From my understanding these are the "hidden stats" that WG won't tell you about. You can find them on almost every wot stats site and garage inspector. For exemple WG won't tell you the gun handling penality for the traverse of the tank or of the turret.

Soft stats are stats that when someone on the forum hits you around the head with them, they don't hurt, unlike hard stats.

Well that is another way of saying, I have no idea either.

Go to a site such as https://tanks.gg/

You will see all sorts of stats which aren't listed in the garage, such as the effect of turning the turret or moving the tracks on your accuracy, or how much health your ammo rack has.  What you now have to do is figure out what those figures do in game.

There are sites with even more info such as repair speeds, etc.

Old, and a bit outdated on some aspects. But still explains the core rules of it.

I think generally people when referring to 'soft stats' are actually referring to 'hidden stats', which are things like ground resistances, effective traverse rates and dispersions whilst moving the turret, turning the tank, moving the tank, module HPs stuff like that.

Basically things you can find in 3rd party sites.

IIRC, soft stat are defined as the stat that change based on the crew training.

Stat as accuracy, dispersion, radio range, view range or traverse speed are soft stat

In opposite to that, are defined hard stat all that stat that don't change based on crew training. Armour, alpha, penetration, shell speed, HP or weight are hard stat.

those `soft stats` are the way WG can er, i wont say rig, i'll say manipulate,  battles etc. without anyone having the faintest idea as it all gets blamed on RNG.

Thank you all, I have a lot of reading to do.  I think the "hidden" stats are the ones I want :)

Yes, this is what usually is being referred to as the soft stats. They are soft, or hidden as in: they are not displayed in the garage of the game client.

Numbers that make you tank go 40 km/h even though the dealer told you it should make 60 km/h

Soft stats are why your .29 accuracy gun on full aim derps and the Russian HT moving past you at full speed snap shots you for 500 alpha.

In other words, they're just another excuse people use for their tinfoil claims. Just too bad that tank behaviour isn't inconsistent and that soft stats aren't secrets.

In my case they are me.  Half blind, arthritic, deaf, tremors, advanced Parkinsons, drunk, imbecilic, my soft factors all play a part.

They change the accurarity/aimtime of some tanks. They change parameters of your gun while moving, turning your hull or rotating the turret. They can make the gun feel more accurate then it actually is (Su 101, Is3, etc.) or make it being less accurate (Grille 15, Amx 46, etc.).
