...I'm confused. More than usual. :amazed:

Edit: does this mean you got a warning for a post from 2018? Well done posting in places even the moderators don't visit.

Now maybe you deserved the warning maybe not, but at present with the serious issues as shown on YouTube of moderators being not just heavy handed but utterly and totally incompetent at the job ( Not suggesting all it may be just one or two but who knows ). I think it is right that players/posters should be able to discuss warnings as it has been shown there have been a large number of warnings and bans given out that where downright WRONG ! to put it very politely.

Now though I suggest we should have a discussion about mods about warnings and bans I do also agree that it should be kept polite on both sides.

This would help the players/posters understand issues that mods may be facing and also enlighten mods that in one well publicised case a certain word is perfectly fine and does under no circumstances deserve any form of sanction.

When struck by a thunderbolt it is unnecessary to consult the Book of Dates as to the precise meaning of the omen.

I have occasionally been banned as a result of some energetic person with too much time on their hands going back into the archives and digging out and reporting something I said many years ago.

In an odd sort of way it does show respect.

What's the point - They let off their favourite posters, and target anyone who the forum decide to bully. They're just playing to the gallery.

A discussion thread re moderators, sanctions, warnings and bans I hope would help reduce the instances of forum bullying be it by over zealous people reporting, or moderator abuse and lastly help educate posters re the warning system so could actually help the moderators.

It would benefit all the only reason I see it not being implemented is because moderators do not want to be named and shamed which is why I said it must be kept polite. it would not be there to name and shame them but encourage them to be fair, to listen and learn, just as posters can learn. I would limit it to being only senior moderators who can edit delete posts in the thread. Name calling would NEVER ! be allowed, but equally if a moderator does not listen/learn then yes posters/players could politely ask for that moderator to be suspended first and upon repeated violations then ultimately banned. Though I really hope that would never need to happen.

How it's like movie directors losing jobs over a 10 year old tweet.

Well, it depends. As you usually only get back what you fired first. And you got triggered instantly. And we still go along the line, and not over it. So it's all good.

I mean this thread will get closed but as someone who knows A LOT about the failings of moderation on this forum and has had multiple long discussions with CCs and moderator leaders about the standard of moderation on this forum, this does not surprise me.

I am aware of a lot warning points that have have been overturned on appeal, and there is one particular mod who has consistently shown they are not doing a very good job but still seems to be doing it.

I'll take it back actually, I could see the warning I got in 2018 but not the one that showed up that was for a post made yesterday.  I'm blaming the board mechanics in this... I can now see the 2nd warning notice and the post I made which was very recent.   Its a shame and embarrassing to make a fuss over nothing as the warning was valid. however the mechanics needs fixing (there's a regular comment for this board)
