Considering the vast majority our players do hail from the differing corners of europe (and asia), I wish to delve into vast repository of music people prefer before WoT default musics.

So, what do you like? No judgement, just what you prefer to listen over WG:s choises?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXzIeI0mkFI Agonist- Very good aggro music to do HT missions

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-kcWrCX9rA Soilwork- More laid-back for TD jobs

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Wrkrbi8cmg Stam1na- For MT missions, heavy but "light", can be somewhat replaced by other national trash metal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PatgDlahzb4 Remnants of Fallen- SPG missions, Korean DM just fits the bill

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECSckM3mVxY&list=PLmFEO5U2S5tKEeSFxcpuEryor6tLzo2in&index=22 Viikate- really an national choice, but very swingy choice for LT missions.

Curious to see if and what people choose to listen to when playing WoT.

I have WoT music set on. I quite like the soundtrack.

Sometime I feel like some other music may fit what's going on.

Like, when assaulting an O-Ni with your T-34S, something like Assassin's Creed Black Flag main theme or Pirates of the Caribbean main theme.

The problem with external music is that it makes me feel invincible. How can you lose if the Dragonborn theme is playing in the background? Unfortunatley, in WoT there is no Dragonborn tank (even if Murazor tryied) so I ended up overextending and dying in silly way. Better the standard WoT theme. :D

Usually some chill tracks, to help keep cool.

There's this fantastic guy called Aljosha Konstanty, composing music and making his own music videos. He's only got 9k subscribers but deserves oh so many many more than that. Definitely check him out if you're into chill/ambient music. You will not be disappointed.

Here's some examples:

Gonna put these in here so the post isn't too long:

When I'm feeling upbeat though, I like to listen to something that makes me feel good, happy. Here's my all-time favorite song to listen to while driving in the car, mom likes it too, heh:

Not had the default music on for ages. It's not bad tbh, but I prefer different things. Winamp is still in use for me. And today while Playing, I had the pleasure of having on the many forms of Chirs Cornell, Dave Grohl & Benjamin Kowalewicz to name a few.

Oddly enough I had "one by one" play for my 3K damage loss on the KV-1 today when they pushed.... 1 by 1.

I do occasionally listen to music when playing if so generally either on one of my players and sometimes on the PC but then I would need to mute WoT as I hate listening to bad recordings and no disrespect to wargaming but any background noise when listening to high quality audio just feels the same as a really bad recording.

I thought maybe Russia Techno when I'm playing the bias nation

But in seriousness, I don't have any music as I find it distracting. Although unicums and the like listen to music on their streams so I'm probably blaming stuff for my low ability :child:

Music distracts me and masks key sounds. Plus, the sound of engines and gunfire is a music all of its own.

Listening to music on YouTube while playing WoT has taught me to hate whatever 'Grammarly' is.

I really love listening to music. Problem is that I enjoy it so much, that it distracts me from the gameplay.

So I have the standard game music on, just so I can keep my focus and not get distracted by the music that I love.

In Mourning has been playing pretty much non stop since 4th, when they released their new album. Great band that should be far bigger than they are.

Can’t say I listen to music while playing WoT but if I did I pretty sure that none of the above would be on my playlist :P

Ha, no wonder. Tastes tend to develop in the teens, and it's hard to adapt- can't stand the stuff my teen plays at home all time.

But to add to the subject, do you (in larger sense) consider music as central to your gaming experience? Performance enchancing? Or is it just for background static?

We sometimes do listen to music over teamspeak when we are having platoon fun. But when playing solo I hardly do that.

And they are mostly tank related:

Soviet anthem for the KV2 - https://www.youtube....h?v=x72w_69yS1A

Star Wars theme song for the Deathstar - https://www.youtube....h?v=-bzWSJG93P8

Benny Hill Theme song when driving fast tanks like the Luchs - https://www.youtube....h?v=MK6TXMsvgQg

Panzerlied when in German Tanks - https://www.youtube....h?v=8JDkdc246QQ

Muppet Show mahna mahna song when doing something stupid - https://www.youtube....h?v=8N_tupPBtWQ

Bridge over the river Kwai theme song when in British tanks.- https://www.youtube....h?v=CB8F8g1-4Uw

When in tanks with the derp - https://www.youtube....h?v=72R8W_Xky6U

You cant touch this when driving T95 - https://www.youtube....h?v=otCpCn0l4Wo

It depends on the game but generally I just want background music that fits with the game setting. Where I think it becomes more key is when music is used to create an atmosphere/mood. So a couple of games I can think of are Sunless Sea and Cultist Simulator. The the music is quite key in creating a Lovecraftian feel.

I usually have a WoT stream on in the background and listen to the music being played there. Spotted and cap alerts are a bonus to make things interesting. Then I tab over in between games and type something dumb in the chat. It has happened that I watch the streamers' game until the end and then go ahead with my gaming, just to find us in the same match. Awkward.

i listen my own selection of music when playing WoT.

i have ''theme songs for almost every tank that i like.

but im going to copy Jumping_Turtle and use similar list for songs. (if you dont mind)

generalize my selection for songs for what ever the situation might be.

When i am Platooning i select the best song from my arsenal that fits the situation perfectly.

Spoiler

for Tanks that have actual armor to block damage and roll forward. ( most heavy tanks )

Spoiler

Medium Tanks in general.

Spoiler

Light Tanks.

Spoiler

Tank Destroyers.

Spoiler

Arty.

Spoiler

ill have to restrain myself every time i see one of these music threads.

i just cant stop listening to music and posting them where ever i can.

its a miracle i've been able to restrain myself from posting in the jukeboxes in the off-topic section.

but there you go. :P

Hilariously the only time I have recently had music on while playing WoT Is putting on a 3-hour Eurobeat mix while playing the EBR 75 On a friend's account for Frontline. :teethhappy:
