Panzer II Kicking Ass and Taking Names

Well I have been driving this tank for a couple days now and with a quick firing gun and upgraded radio you can do a lot of damage to anything you see.
My favorite tactic is to set myself up behind a couple of rocks and pick off anything I see or has been detected by team mates.
And you can take a bit of damage before you get destroyed.
How do you like to drive your little Panzer II?

Like a Dragoon.
Go in, take position on the flank, be ready to move up, pin the enemy with hail of fast rounds, fast reposition, hope that fellow team tankers don't camp as much and move up to support and encircle the enemy.

Haven't actually played Pz2, but I know for a fact that my MS-1 and BT-2 crews hate it

I really like the Pz II in recruit battles. When i meet two or three of them, driving around in my Pz 35(t), i often can be assured that i will have soon 2-3 more kills by taking neglegtable damage myself.
Sure, some Pz II drivers know how to handle their tank, and as usual, every well manned tank can be a thread, but many Pz II drivers just don´t have the skill to make good use of their tank. And in my opinion, you need some skill to score hits with that rapid fire gun.
When i played the Pz II, i personally didn´t like the 2cm Gun, it was far to inaccurate on fast moving targets and didn´t inflict serious damage, when it scored a hit.
But, if you manage to bring several rounds into your target, it is a quite reliable and even deadly tank, i will give him that.

Hotchkiss laughs at your tiny 2 cm canon, and if you angle the armor even the upgraded one does nothing!
On a serious note though, they are the only tanks that look like a threat due to their high speed, and a good driver can make wonders with that tiny tank

Really got into the PZII starting again in the Russian version I did make an interesting discovery though , In my original closed beta noob battles I couldn't get on with it, as most of the group of shots it fired seem to miss the target, but without using auto(lame)aim which always points to the center of the target I began to aim very low, allowing the natural tendency of the gun to climb when fired, to walk the shots up the target, so providing at least one extra hit per salvo.

I am playing with pings of 400-500ms so I use Auto-Aim a lot for the help and the fast firing cannon when aimed totally is usually getting 1 or 2 hits even at long range. At close range or point-blank I will get all hitting.
And when you are driving at full speed and starting getting hit you are going to lose concentration and want to know who is shooting at you. Nothing like seeing a BT-2 speeding along, shoot him and see him screech to a halt just waiting for following shots to turn him into swiss-cheese.
Of course having his friend come running up behind me and turn me into hamburger after I just killed his friend is no fun.

The PzII was ok for me but the 2cm gun is just too weak for me - especially at long range. I always run into trouble as soon as I'm facing against heavier guns.

You might want to try usinf the PzII as a sniper.
Yes thats complete bollocks but i tried it out after getting a loltractor crew to ~80%. The breda-gun fires (iirc) 6 times a burst.
Hitting something with a full burst in the turret or even the main body is devastating.
Initial experimentation with a PzII crew ~60% and standing still (it really needs to stand still at long ranges) the effects even
on the Hotchkiss are -interesting- it took me around 2 full bursts (every single shell hit either the turret or main body) & then
it simply died - weaker targets simply melt (Tier2 TDs).
Its being made possible due to the dicey nature of the damage & penetration system simply favoring a higher rate of fire by
getting more criticals in a shorter time.
One of the main advantages of driving your PzII as a sniper is not getting hurt so much in the first 3min, while literally killing
everything in sight. When something aproches you in close range, it ait a problem since being a nimble Tier2 and blessed with
a gun capable of bringing shots in, even at maximum speed most things still die very, very quickly.
The downside is, once the frenzy has died down standing still is outright deadly.

I never really got good in the game until I reached PzIII A and the Pz II Luch. But the Pz II is still a good tank for those that can handle it.

I recently bought a PzII for fun and I love it. It's great being in matches full of Loltraktors. I get so many kills.

Yeah, the Pz II is better at teaching proper tank handling than a BT-2 (but I'd argue that a T-26 or MS-1 is better than either, though Pz IIs may eat you alive), but their lessons stop being useful after you get past A-20s and Leos.
With the long 20mm, it is one of the most fun tanks in the entire game, however. With the long 20mm, you can eat all the other tier 1/2s for dinner most of the time. Lots of fun. I've gotten 7 kills in a round with it before, and captured the flag.
Cheers,
Logan

I love my PzII, I still have it. I use it for fun now since all my other tanks are T5,6 and 7. But this little bugger still keeps me entertained....my highest kill count is in it..9. Loads of fun...and with the 20mm AC...and a crew of 100% its like a laser beam. I'll never get ride of it....well...until the wipe of course.
