well if I read it correct that is basically what they are testing now, lower damage on the derps and taking armor out of the equation so HE will do a certain damage with the 25% RNG, no more oneshots but more spamming HE

Cheers WG, first they steal away my VK28 Derp gun, and make that tank just another generic, boring t6.

 

Now my lil' Cruiser II will suffer the same fate.

 

Let's just crack on and have just one tank/playstyle.

 

T6 medium, same gun, same armour. That should do it.

Not exactly. They are reducing the damage big time in a whole and removing the penetration at all. That means it will always splash outside the hull doing the already known splash damage (which should still be reduced IMO), but they aren't able to penetrate anymore.

Example: KV-2 has now I think about 300 dmg with its HE shells, so hitting a tank always does this amount of damage (except the tank is heavily armored I guess), even if he would have penetrated. So even if he hits a M56 Scorpion (which has literally 0mm turret armor all around), it does only about 300dmg.

So...about ammo

Increase all tanks HP

ncrease alpha damage for standard ammo

take away penetration from HE shells means...making cars OP at hight tiers

Derp guns will do same damage like now against armoured targets

But Centurion 7/1, charioteer, Conway with stock gun, Ru-251, RHM-Pzw, Tortoise, they will lose 105-120 mm pen for HE shells

And this was the only good way to fight cars and LTs at high tier

The overal result of ammo balance will be more special ammo required to destroy a heavy tanks

And dont worry about cars, they will have standard and special ammo with good penetration to use their speed and shhot slower tanks from behind

Boohoo, low tier derps are getting nerfed, omg no!!!!! If it makes the game healthier i'm completely ok with it, but what they really need to do is nerf those stupid 183 HESH rounds that deal 800 no matter what, when they're not not one shoting you.

 

In the current state of the game, i'd prefer to be against someone that only shoots gold rather than HE.

Thats also what i worry, the game will become more predictable and with less variation. The word im looking for is BORING.

As a purple player please tell me how often you get hit by 183 during a 50 battle session playing your OP reward tanks? Im just curious how much they really hurt you?

Its a bit of a shame in that some tanks function so differently with it. The PzIV, hardly a stand out tank except for the derp.

Same applies to the KV-2.

Hezters gotta hetz except when it can't any longer. I think in these tiers, it stands out a little as something different. It's not going to ruin my day but I think I will rue the day this change comes in, should it ever that is.

This, most premium ammo spam still gives you a chance to potentially bounce, high calibre HE spam is just losing HP whatever.

More pay to win then? And with premium ammo doing less damage, pay even more.
Not to forget heavies with more HP, again pay more. 
 

I think i understand the reason behind these changes.

u are unicum and complain about this HESH shells??? is just sad... from a tank that has useless armor.. 0 mobility.. shitty gun handling... no fully rotatable turret.. no gun depression ... infinite reload time...if u get pen frontally in the hull is 99% set on fire... most of the time you don't pen so u do 600-800 dmg.... the chance to hit somebody for fully 1800 is an RNG fiasco... frontally u cant pen tire X and on the side RNG could say eat cacco and hit the tracks...and all of this after u aim 3-4 seconds...

If premium ammo is effectively doing less damage for more penetration, that is a balanced trade off.  Not sure how that is pay to win when the round is not obviously better, it does less damage (not that I agree with pay to win on premium ammo anyway).

While I see why people are concerned... correct me if I`m wrong, but we`re talking about the stuff that is being tested on Sandbox and has not been introduced in the live server, right? 

Please, I can see reason behind such threads if these changes were introduced just like that in the live server and affected several tanks. 

However, this is not even a test server, it`s a Sandbox and just like some ideas tested in the Sandbox - it can be tuned, it can be pushed forward, it can be scrapped altogether and in any case it will be quite some time before it`s introduced in the game - if at all.

the ppl issue is that WG try to fix things that nobody asked for.... and things that we ask every day we dont see any progress... at the beginning of this year u made a movie that will show us what changes to expect in 2019... pls make a list of how many of this things are in game now....I'm just guessing but it could be less then 20%

To be fair, WG did almost everything in that list. Only premium ammo rebalance, bond shop and IS-4/E100 buffs are still missing.

But I agree that HE is not really a priority, nor an issue at all IMO.

Can you send me the link to the video you mentioned so I can see what they promissed in the video. Afterwards I'm able to compare it with the current state.

People have long memories from when blatently OP/UP, or broken tanks, enter test servers, the entire community tells WG these facts, and the feedback goes nowhere.

but I think that talking about it among us players is as essential as it is essential not to panic as it is just a test sandbox
