For most tanks I don't think it will make much difference. 

 

I will try the sandbox if I have time but if it's anything like past experience you can't tell anything because of Russians yoloing around.

Yeah, no, the short version of players on sandbox is getting on 3 minutes after the server is up and asking "why does HE have zero pen?".

Suffice to say, nobody really plays to test what's meant to be tested, which makes the whole endeavour rather pointless for yourself as a player.

How can you truly test it on sandbox?

 

Everyone will spam HE. only natural its a HE test. But then it wont be anything like the usual random battle as while a lot of HE does get flung sometimes, its never 24/7 constant by most tanks?

What can be tested is how much damage HE does depending on gun calibre and where you shoot it.

 

After testing that, the conclusion is that HE is useless.

Having played the SB for a while and getting to some derp tanks I think there idea has a few flaws.

The real pain for me at the moment is we do not have decent crews its truly awful trying to see how a KV2 is working out when in the game you have a 5 skill crew with BIA while in the test you have a standard 100% crew.

They should have enabled crew books in the test but didn't.

 

I think the flaw is this and  QB said much the same in his video.

The plan seems to be to prevent massive damage from HE shells but for all caliber guns to do damage with HE consistently.

The change does that.

They see HE as being used for stopping a cap well yes you can do that so ok

 

Finishing of a tank on low Hits that's unlikely unless the tank is on maybe 20 hit points or less and you would feel pretty silly if you used HE and left it on 2 hit points.

I use HE when an average roll on my standard AP might not be enough but the extra from HE makes it a pretty sure kill.

So AP does 250 and enemy tank is on 300 my HE does 350 so i use it.

You frequently do under 50 points and sometimes single figures combine that with fewer criticals and crew casualties and its getting a little pointless.

 

They also see HE as being used to track enemy tanks problem is the reduction in damage means you simply will not track a tank.

The entire idea just does not make sense when you compare it to their reasoning for the change.

I don't actually think this current change will go much further I expect further testing is needed.

People don't actually do that though. You'd be surprised how many people on sandbox have no clue what's being tested and if they do, they usually don't care and fire regular rounds anyways.

Kind of makes sense if you want to measure the actual impact of rebalancing something. Wonder how 'aware' people are on the 'supertest' servers.

They are increasing HE damage to external modules though (ie. tracks).

The gameplay on sandbox is so much better. Barely any arty, no stats showing, no HE spam. If the game would be like its on the sandbox it would be great! Enjoying the game more than I have in many years there.

THEY DON'T NEED TO TOUCH HE SHELLS AT ALL!!! SANDBOX CHANGES ARE HORRIBLE, IT WILL KILL THE GAME!
