Hi to all,

As title suggests...i'm having a huge problem playing with that big boy...playstyle differs greatly from T29 and T32 i think...(which they are the best hull-downers in their tiers...) i cant get used to it after 35-40 battles...sidescraping is risky because tracks are joke...turret front seems not reliable like T32 therefore playing hull down is a lot more difficult...lower front plate is weak...cant hide the weak areas of the tank always because its too huge !!

the good aspects of the tank for me is its turret turn speed and gun stats....other than that it looks like crap...(view range is way below average as well for an american tank...)

i have to get through to it to E5....so any help would be great...

Thanks

The tank is not even nearly comparable to T29 and T32.

The turret is a lot weacker and a huge area is covered by the 38mm roof, that 120mm guns and higher love to overmatch.

Pay attention to that because when not using full gun depression, even IS and KV-3 can pen you quite easily from close to mid range.

In before 'support heavy' - which is correct, but strictly speaking just means it's bad.

The best piece of advice I can give is that you might not want to bother with researching the top gun. Aside from that, the E5 isn't exactly the flavour of the week.

People give it too much hate. Its pretty decent IMO. Turret has a massive weakspot though which you have to take into consideration. The gun is epic though and the highlight of the tank. You also have fantastic viewrange.

Dont play it, this is best advice

choose T57 heavy line, better tier 10 and 9 there

sure, problems with swtching crew but can be solved with gold

My advice would be to engage your targets at medium to long range preferably from a hull down or side scraping position. Your weak spots become a lot harder to hit at range plus you can use your good gun handling to your advantage.

Another advice would be to avoid getting into fights you can't win. Meaning if you see a hull down T-10 or Conqueror you go somewhere else or wait for them to leave their hole.

All in all M103 is really not that impressive for a T9 heavy and same goes for T110E5, the star of US heavy tank line is without a doubt T29.

The turret sides are horrible. If you use your gun depression, your roof and cupola are harder to hit. M103 just lacks mobility imo, Conqueror is just better.

Always keep moving (back an forth when in position) to make shots on your turret roof less easy. Also always keep your gun facing the enemies, when distracted or when you want to look behind you, use right mouse button to keep the turret to the front (for obvious reasons).

When top tier, try to bulley, this can give unexpectedly good results if you can keep the gun fireing. Also I found the top gun worth the xp, but probably most will advise you to skip it.
