I don't think this would work, still the fear of losing Chevron will prevent many people from playing actively, hoping that if the team loses they will at least manage to save Chevron doing some late damage and kills and if the team wins they will automatically get one regardless of what they do, so why to risk your life pushing early? I think if the whole team would lose Chevrons that would motivate people more to play for the win, but then there's the problem of unbalanced MM punishing good players with bad teams, cause realistically on Tier X battle 1 person can hardly carry the whole game by himself.
Maybe if nobody would lose the Chevron from the losing team, but only like 5 best players in the winning team would earn it could work better, but then still players will be very selfish, taking bat-chats and other autoloaders and just focus on stealing kills. There's no good solution here tbh, because when your progression is determined by your own performance that will always generate selfish behavior, you're essentially playing against 29 players in every battle, you don't care how your team does as far as you win. In some situations it's better to leave your teammate alone to die instead of trying to save him, cause then he could survive longer and "steal" your Chevron, so why save him risking your own HP, when you can wait till he gets killed and then finish of the enemies that killed him by sniping etc.
I don't know how to solve that, and I don't even think that can be fixed, we just have to live with the way it is.
