So, after few suspicious battles, I decided to test some things about fall damage with my friend.

What we found is that most of the time you can jump from ridiculous heights and receive no fall damage.

What's up with that? Is this game is really getting dumbed down so much?

It was very fun pushing an enemy tank from a very high hill and see him drive away with full HP.

And don't get me started on wheeled vehicle physics, i guess at this point they are immortal i guess.

So GG WG? Can we get some answers and a fully working game instead of you shitting a new premium tank every other week?

I guess in a year or two we'll be driving tanks made out of rubber eh?

Ooooh, this does look like fun stuff to do during the weekend... Leap off random cliffs to surprise the enemies who weren't expecting you there.

IMO it's not only that, but I think the ramming mechanics need a rework as well. I think it's not really logical
that a tank gets destroy by backing up into him with about 10kph...

There currently is a glitch where if you don't press any button after you enter the soap rock drifting mode when driving off cliffs, the first time you hit the ground you don't take any damage regardless of situation. That is, if you hit the ground, idk what happens when you land on a tank. The glitch doesn't work if you hit something after the initial impact, like bouncing after you hit the ground, or bouncing from cliff to cliff.

You don't even need a very fast tank to do it, and in a couple of niche situations it can be exploited to a certain degree.

There are three situations out of the ~10 which i tested, in which the exploit can give an advantage and i could pull them off consistently enough(8/10 times).

Himmelsdorf - south spawn window on the hill, ebr, progetto 65 and chieftain can all jump down without losing HP. Helpful if you need to get to banana really quick, or if you are followed by people and running away, and going downhill the normal way will make you lose hp.

Overlord - jump on the beach from virtually anywhere with any tank. Just find a steep enough slope and make sure you land in such away that you don't bounce around. Particularly useful with the ebr if you need to run away and the beach is not enemy controlled, since nobody can follow you, but other tanks benefit a lot, like a batchat can jump down in the cleanup phase and quickly beat all of his teammates to the 2k dmg feast.

Glacier - jump from the glacier. Again, good flanking ability and insane surprise factor, especially with autoloaders. We even dropped a maus off and he only lost 600 hp. Considering the fact that there are two ways to traditionally get down from there( the way up, and the small slope inside the heavy area), the exploit comes from being able to drop from the elevated positions behind the heavies and clip them out of the blue.

These exploits are not particularly game breaking, and the chance to gain an unfair advantage out of this is pretty small, it's still an issue that needs solving. My guess it was a hardcoded solution to tanks randomly losing hp when they were drifting on the soap rocks and just left it there without proper testing.

While I think this is going too far in the other direction, the falling damage before was idiotic as well. Even falling from a small ridge totaled your tank.

Now while that is fine for a simulation, this is an arcade game and a bit less "sudden death" would be cool.

Especially since the "Wet Soapstone Physics" I pointed out on the 1.0 release still have not been fixed....

Hm, in the battle i played recently in my T54 ltwt, i totaled my tank upon hitting the Ground.

Might have been due to the ~40kph i made when jumping down a small-ish cliff to avoid getting derped by 2 TX TDs.

Hello

This is already a known issue and we are working on fixing it. Unfortunately we don't have an exact date when it will be fixed.

I took the quick route down on himmlesdorf in one tonk as an experiment and lost about 15HP by the time I had bounced down the cliff to the bottom

So there's room for improvement

I saw a PTA fly down there the other day without a scratch. Needless to say I was in disbelief.

So we have a new exciting feature in game. Neat.

Hopefully not this weekend, cause I'm planning to score some stunt points.

We can't blame them, but they can't blame players if they use bug to get advantage against opponents.

I wonder what will happen next sometimes. How about removing ramming damage while you're at it and call it a feature?

Used this new knowledge yesterday to solve a problem. What used to be a suicide drop turned out to win us the game. Thanks, new feature. :child:
