Personally, I feel the main WoT product is quite lacking and stale.

Although WG is very unlikely to change the maps soon (how many iterations Minsk has by now?) there are still good ways to make the game more attractive without much leg work. Nevertheless, that is really the way to go.

More mission types could make things more interesting.

Here's what other games have, that could be included within Random Battles. Players could, of course, toggle them on or off, as Encounter/Assault or Grand Battles.

Note that destroying all your opponents will always be a winning condition (I understand most players would prefer killing all because of stats and that should be factored in but just for the sake of this argument, let's try to ignore it).

CrossOut: Maps with 3 bases from which you need to cap 2 to win

Each team spawns the same distance away from two bases. They can capture one which is the safest or contest the one where the enemy will normally gravitate to. The third one, neutral, further away, is often contested last.

WoWS: Be the first team to Score 1000 points

Here we'd have to change things a bit, like giving certain areas or Control Points that have to be captured or destroyed to award the actor team collect points since there isn't a point-per-class system here in WoT. One could be easily implemented but ROFLstomps might make it unnattractive.

The other way around would be, in 1000 shots, the team that produces more damage wins, but that's off the top of my head and probably would be even less popular. I know I didn't make a good case in this point but hopefully you get the gist of the mechanic behind the primary concept.

BattleFields (All series): Be the first to reduce the enemy tickets (Team respawns) to zero

A fairly familiar objective. The more a team respawns, the more they are likely to lose.

Enemy Engaged (All series): Reduce key objectives' effectiveness below a certain threshold. When most of the team's objectives are lost, they lose. Objectives can be repaired.

Respawns would probably have to be ON in this type of fight.

Feel free to throw in your ideas or to launch your critique to these. Would love to know what you think.

Happy weekend.

Man... half the playerbase don't seem to be able to tell the difference between standard, assault and encounter.
This would blow their minds.

Sounds like... frontline. Better add new campaign with missions along the lines - get 3rd mark on kv-1 or play a battle on Churchill Gun Carrier or bounce a couple of shots on AMX 50 100. Missions for particular vehicles. Since there is campaigns for tank types and nations.

Why? I suppose that you both know the difference between those game types. Why don't you educate us?  I'm interested to know tactics in those game modes in different maps, but is there also something more?

Tactics are the same, shoot tanks, cap if needed. The goal of the modes are different.

Well, what I learned during my military service 50 years ago, tactics is not shooting, but putting your troops in better position to your enemies.  Does my memory serve me right?

You can forget what ever you learned in military, this is an arcade game. None of it applies here.

My comment was more about those people who camp protect the spawn on assault games...
