Hello there forumites,

can someone pls point me to a good recent guide series for t10 light tank play, I’ve searched youtube and found old guides or wheelies, I recently bought the t8 prem wheelie but have not really played it.

My game time has dropped off over the last few months but then I  got t55a lt10 done and thought let’s get to 15, I was not a bad lt player at t9 and down , 2 marked the 1390 which for me is a huge source of pride, but at t10 I am just more than useless (t100lt,13105,Sheridan) - I passive spot but no damage, then get out spotted by ebr/med .

With the new mm there does not seem to be enough HP for 7k combined so I’m starting to get very frustrated as the game has moved on and left me behind so any help would be much appreciated

cheers

shane

Best thing you can do here my friend is find your own path.

Pretty much every man & his dog will have an opinion on the 'best' way to play them so I would suggest ignoring them, and me, completely :)

Does a decent T10 light actually exist?

Just play indeed. You have to find out how those tanks can be played and how they cannot. For instance if you play the AMX on Tundra and you go to the hill; you have yo find out how you can clip fast enemies, how you can use the gun depression if you are on the hill first, when to snapshot, etc.
If you play the t100lt as stealthy scout, you have to find out which early positions you can reach to get early spots, for instance on Live Oaks, Redshire or Murovanka.

Although you probably know the maps and tanks. It takes time to fully understand how they can be / have to be played on each map, in certain situations and against specific tanks.

A valid point;)

I quite like the T-100 but would I describe it as decent?

Not so sure...

Usual thing Shane. Pop up some replays on WoTReplays that people can watch. I'm sure you'll get some useful advice. At higher tiers with lights it could be the smallest thing?

A lot of players might be using improved equipment. Do you use food? What are your crews like? Do you know about the small points on a tank that get it spotted? Do you know how to spot with only part of the tank?

Some of that might be teaching you to suck eggs, but it's worth a try?

The only one I see racing about spotting and causing havoc at T10 is the EBR 105

One that got hit last week looked like he was on a giant rubber band as he accelerated away from trouble

Must have been running on food and rocket fuel, incredible speed

You need patience and some endurance to get the right map and team.

A LT8/9 will do aswell.

Hi @shane73tank,

skill4ltu is very good with lights, can be a bit hit and miss if he's playing one on twitch at any given time.   His youtube channel will have some gameplay (usually with some verbal insights / chatter), but you really want to find a twitch session where he's three marking a high tier LT (will be in the historic twitch videos somewhere).

here's a starter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNPgyyubBN4

My personal experience with lights is not the bes,t I suck in them.

However when I see them played well they are not ACTIVELY spotting for the team. This is not to say they don't spot, but you caan't justyolo around and hope people will shoot what you spot, THEY WON'T.

Instead, play them as a support medium, until your superior camo and view range is vital to winning the game.

I just happen to really like the 13 105. It plays a bit like the EVEN, without the camouflage but with a great gun!

I'm a 49% er and I did 8'000 combined last month on Malinovka in the Type 62. Early passive spotting then move forward slowly trying to keep things lit, then 2'000 damage clearing up at the end. Try not to get lit yourself, don't shoot and give yourself away early. Arty is helpful for hitting what you spot and enemy arty for easy damage at the end. You are reliant on the teams.

LTs are hard to play but the most rewarding.

Main thing I'd say is don't do risky spotting, especially don't get pressured into it as plenty of idiots will ask for spotting which actually translates to you risking your tank so they can shoot from 400m away behind thick bushes. These same people will get angry if you survive to late game and hate on you instead of the LT that died after 30s.

Don't fight stuff frontally, don't trade, try to track stuff you can't pen or track them anyway to farm, keep an eye on the mini map, try to flank and play safe until the numbers on both teams thin out then roam with more confidence. All that is easier said than done however...

Can the T100 really be described as 'decent'?

Or really a shite in shining armour?

The thing is at tier X you are probably going to be countered by enemy light tanks or good mediums using food.

When I was doing the 260 light tank missions I had food and improved optics on my T-100-LT and managed 11k spotting on Prok. I moved the optics to my EBR for CW and Ranked.

The advice about watching some of Skill4ltu’s videos is sound. He is a great light player. He knows wen to active or passive spot and when to withdraw or take risks.

T-100-LT and 13 105 would be my choice and I guess you should be fine with the latter with your 1390 experience in time.

I'd also stay at T9 or even T8.

T10 tends to have MM of the same tier so you're always up against gold spammers or atleast folk with max view range.

The bulk of T9 games I encounter are T8/T9 splits which are far more favourable.

Loads of good LTs around that tier, even some T8 Prem ones so you can rake in credits whilst playing.

I'd argue it's that way from T7 onwards, the more HP you can save for later on the better. Ofc if the T7 MM is vs T5s then by all means go at them...
