Remember boys and girls, that cute little (or big, depending on how you use your + and - keys) image of the battle area in the bottom of your screen is more than just for decoration.  It actually contains useful information that can be used during the course of the battle.  Here's just a few of it's many uses:

A) Showing you the location of your team mates as they rush around trying to destroy the evil enemy menace threatening your base, your team and life as we know it.   Knowing this can allow you to better choose where your amazing skills can best be used in the service of your team.

You only have one team per battle so be sure to protect them wisely.

B) Showing you the location of enemies that you, or your helpful team mates have spotted during the course of the battle.  Keep in mind that their real location is only updated as long as they stay spotted.  Once they haven't been seen for a little while it's only a way to know where they were last seen.

It may seem strange, but knowing where the enemy is can actually help you determine who to shoot at and the best place to do it from.  You may notice some of your team ignoring to use this information, preferring to trust on their skills and the strength of their mighty tanks to push through the offending enemies, but this doesn't always work.

Studies have show that actually using objects for cover, planning where to shoot from and taking time to aim at enemies that have been spotted actually works better than screaming "Don't Cap, Kill All!" and charging into them.

and those are just a few of it's many uses.

So, it's up to you if you want to be a team player, press the "M" key and use the information it provides wisely.  Of course, you may choose to hide the annoying mass of information and trust what you see in front of your own eyes instead.

Whatever your choice, I wish you luck on the battlefield!

(No, I don't expect this information to be new to anyone. I just had "one of those battles" and felt like posting something silly)

That's the annoying UI feature you can press M to disable, right?

That seems to be the popular belief.  We at Average Player Central are doing our best to change peoples opinions and show them the many wonderful uses that the mini-map can provide.

Remember boys and girls, if you don't use the mini-map, you can be sure that it is being used against you.

I've driven through lots of villages and cities but still have not found the map shop, nor can I see it in the depot or store in the garage - is this a premium item I have to buy with real money?

I always press V for victory when I start battles.
So much easier to play, no distractions in screen.

Hi, my name is Steve, and i don't need that map thingy you are talking about.

I just drive my heavy to the heavy corner, bully weaker players/tanks or get bullied by better players/tanks.

I don't need to flank or reposition when my tank has good armour.

Tyvm for your consideration tho.

Edit: "Pubic service" hope this is unintentional

What I do not understand is why you make the informed decision to play, knowing that you are going to get a mixed bag of players and are now complaining about it.

Of course, given you have no idea if people are using their maps or not in the first place.  Your comments fall into the trap of being a post hoc fallacy.

I'm getting an impression that "public service" in the UK might just mean something widely different from it's definition in the USA.

Press the "m" or "v" key till the minimap  dissapears from your view and start to blame cheat mods and MM for everything that goes wrong from that point forward?

Your comments fall into the trap of being a post hoc fallacy.

AS if most of us actually knows what that means...  sounds like something from Sheldon in the big bang theory...   and that's an assumption that people even get that particular reference ;)
