Recently (in September if my memory serves) I installed the game into a new computer, and found myself using the game centre instead of the familiar launcher. Every time I start the game, I think that I should look for a way to get rid of this annoyance and switch to the launcher. For me, there is no reason for the game centre to exist; I am not interested in your other titles, I don't need a big picture of the latest T8 premium tank, nor do I need a picture of a chest of gold coins, and I can change the game settings inside the game, thank you. The game centre is just a nuisance, not bad enough to actually go and dig deep for information on how to get rid of it, but just plain inferior to the launcher. And no, there is clearly no "latest industry and technology standard" that the game centre meets but the launcher does not, this is just technobabble.

Right, I understand, there is no way back, WG have decided to give us this abomination from now on and we will use it; it does not make much difference. However, the reasons given just insult our intelligence; this article should have instead just stated that the launcher is gone, the bells and whistles are the future, take a look at those other games, too.

launcher is total mince, I click on the shortcut for wot on my desktop and it only loads the wargaming centre. doesn't even have the decency to run from hitting the enter key, then to add another farce u still got to click connect.
should be a one click operation.

Could you please forward the feedback that it would be nice if we could start the 64-bit version of WoT from the launcher? :great:

I will be more than happy to. :)

Why is it so difficult for WG to understand, WE DO NOT WANT THIS LAUNCHER!!!!!.

I have tried this and never again it creates so much problems and if this being forced on me then I must serious think about what I am going todo if I will continue to be using wg games.

We understand your concerns, but as Gepard mentioned, it's not logical for us to continue running and supporting two different pieces of software which in theory, at least for WoT players, do exactly the same.

Of course with WGC having more options.

Well, nobody really expect a thing from launcher, so it can be only improved, even if i dont know how exactly. I mean, it has to download patch with one button to start the game. I just hope it will be not something trying to run in background whole time with some convoluted way of exiting, like some other launchers...

But that's exactly what it does!

I deleted WoWp because of the launcher. And now ...

the launcher is a marketing tool designed to make money after all WG are a company

That's bs,the launcher is more than fine, the only reason behind this move is to make some wot players check (therefore spend more cash) out your other titles.

I suspect the webkit they use for the launcher is getting a bit dated.  The main change with WGC is a change of web browser tech.

requires to use account name and password 2 times

come together wg people

one is enough

It doesn't ask for mine at all.  I suspect a case of PEBCAK.

Ah yes, the launcher that has been in my installation folder since Closed-Beta,

No it hasn't.

The closed beta used IE for the launcher, they changed to a different webkit some time after launch.  This change is no different apart from the fact that they are telling you.

So give us option for manual patching, no need to care about supporting 2 launchers. I'm not playing heavily recently, only few gams on recruit account from time to time. I even tried WGC but after all this aggresive marketing spam I switched back to old launcher and don't planning to use WGC anymore. If it means goodbye to WoT I won't be missing much.

Ah yes, the launcher that has been in my installation folder since Closed-Beta, that is functioning perfectly (updating and running the game) needs to be retired for functions I do not need or asked for (outside updating and running the game).

It's a shame, but at least I'll still have the CBT patch-notes files in my installation directory, or will that folder also be murdered for no good player-side reason?

Over the years I've copied my original CBT install folder to various new machines, without the need to install anything, just boot up the launcher and the game works fine. Wondering this is will still be the case with the new WGC?

Also a bit worried about the amount of premium-store spam and room reserved for "selling stuff" seems to be in the new launcher.

Cobra 6

mine's still in the same folder, same HDD, same pc, a sad day coming up indeed

The Wargaming Center will not install on my PC, only on my old machine that is a hunk of junk!

It's thousands of hours of release team's and QA team's work preparing and checking every single patch for the game, worldwide for all regions. The software itself does not require maintenance. Running a live service on it does and it takes a lot of resources, which could be spent in a more useful way.

Like in crew skins, emblems, decals, silly sandbox iterations ideas, or halloween mode.

I think that they're using Qt for WGC, juding from all the Qt DLL's in "ProgramData/Wargaming.net/GameCenter/dlls". The CEF is propably used for the ingame browser :)

I have Teamspeak and Discord Installed on my pc. To mute my Mircophone I use right ALT. With this 'Game Center' my Mic is getting toggled when starting up a game. It really sucks and I question my self: Why... Is it a WG Policy to do this different all the time?

This is just one big poop in the face of your customers ! TOTALY unconneced with your playerbase as usual. As stated before, I hope someone with more focus then your own developers will mod this bloatware away, or you will be losing paying customers.

Fair warning's been made...

Yeah, sure: even more premium-crap-tanks I bet...

Thanks to this totally stupid design-decission you'll see your playerbase fade away even faster.

And soon, very soon, those few resources spent on good old launcher will be the least of your worries...

Why so?  Because WG deserves it  :D
