Yes, when you update your OS.

why should he need to update his operating system just to play a game that worked before the update to gc

Because Windows XP stopped receiving updates several years ago?

And continued use of it is only putting his entire system at risk from viri, ransomware, etc?

I remember when you just clicked on wg to start the game but one of their past patches messed things up, the only way was to reinstall it . Now the start up is a big box ? Why the hell we need that I have no idea , but there’s a lot more things you can a see in it . To opens up a lot more things so am not  complaining about it

thats windows B.s

your system is only protected enough by your firewall that you install

by using windows firewall and antivirus was poor years ago and still is the most poorest system of protection

to be blunt here the only reason why people need to upgrade there system is a corporate one

its either upgrade your system to what we state or you cant use our programs on your computer simple as a ransomware upgrade

Let me guess, you're also an Anti-Vaxxer?

Quite the leap you took there. I blame the Tavistock Institute for your reasoning.

Maybe a vegan and a flat-earther as well.

Also, did Microsoft ever roll out a fix for that whole spectre ad meltdown exploits that were uncovered a while ago?

If not, have fun getting your system hijacked by a script someone put in an advert on some website you're visiting.

did microsoft actually release to create the need to upgrade to windows 10

yet windows 10 is based upon old models whilst refusing to update below windows 10, windows 10 can be hacked in many new exploits

Still a hundred times safer than your WinXP machine though.

direct X 12 is also only win 8/10

also if i remember well win 10 was only in 64 bit , so unlike some win 7 systems that were 32 bit , that can support just 1 GB of RAM per application with win 10 WG can expect more RAM , not to mention that new systems tend to have more and faster RAM in general

Not that you'd ever want to use it...

The advantage of the 32bit version is it uses less memory, useful for low end netbooks and laptops.

your statement of the machine im using sadly your highly mistaken

I might refuse to use windows 10 as i dont want or like microsoft having a copy or doing as it pleases with my machine

it only owns the os not the machine its installed upon

I value my information, private information and dont like being used as a commodity like companies think we should be

Then why are you contradicting yourself?

You value your privacy, and yet you insist on using an operating system that anybody can hack and extract information from.

A few years back I had a gaming pc made up . The tec lads said windows 7 was the best platform for it . So on it went I must say it runs brill on it  The tec lads then installed E S E T anti virus , windows has now stopped up dateing  7 but no worries with this  E S E T  has full control  over every thing . it gives you an on going report if it thinks some thing is not right  . I have have a few other anti virus on my pc but not one as good as this .  Nothing gets in

Except that Viri aren't the problem after an OS stops being supported...

Your anti-virus will only protect you from viruses. It isn't going to do jack crapto stop someone exploiting a security vulnerability in part of your OS. As of january Win7 hits EOL and you get no more security patches so if you aren't on a modern up to date OS by then you're living on borrowed time. Update to Win10 now, it's still free to do so last I checked.
