Hey guys!
I'm a world of warship player, but started playing world of tanks.

Now I'm wondering - I enjoy the brawler type of playstyle - Decent damage and decent armor.

Which tank line would you recommend?

IS7 when viewed as a whole line is generally a good bet for a new player.

the grind for the IS-7 is probably the least painful the game. Go for that to start with.

The grinding is irrelevant for me, I'm just focusing on the tier X :)

Hello GeneralJensen Immoxb and welcome back to the forums. :)

Probably the IS-7 line got the best all round heavies. Good armor, good mobility and high alpha. Good luck!

Super Conquer is probably better for you. But the grind to tier 8 ... will probably make you uninstall

Obj 705a was the tier 10 that let me complete the heavy line missions with ease.

if you want to brawl then go for this one.

You can start the IS-4 line up to the KV-3 and then wait for the double barreled line that will start from there. That will likely have good firepower, even if armour is still under testing... :)

And it will likely arrive in December!

Any  tier X tank is expensive as gold rounds are the ammo of choice, and if you don't use them yourself, your game will last minutes only,

I've not actually explored the Soviet line at all aside from the low level TD's and LT's. However, of the three T10 heavies I do have (Maus, S Conqueror and Type 5) I am really enjoying the Maus. Yes it's slow as a tranquilised sloth, but the armour is pretty forgiving and the gun is reasonable even without gold ammo (although I always have some gold on hand for enemy heavies). I know you aren't focussed on the grind but you do need to be aware of the mid level tanks in any chosen tree. I really disliked the Japanese line until the Type 4 (which I have kept) and the Type 5...

Don't take my advice as a "super duper" one
I got the Is-7 as my first tierX (and only atm)
Thank god, i love the bastard even if i don't play it a lot (i prefer lower tier)
For what i've read, other good tier X are the chinese WZ (both but the 111 mod 5a is the best...despite this you can grind both if you manage to face the 110 at tier 8 (is not bad, but you have to know the dude in order to play smoothly...and i don't :D ) since the grind is quite nice (i loved the t-34 and t-34-85 bootleg and IS-2 is quite good...even better than the  soviet IS-1 prolly)
Other good heavies are the british but the grind is painful, and the E-100 (a bit hard to grind cuz of the tiger 2 not being a so much good tank atm) ad Maus (despite what you read...i'm playing stock VK and is not bad at all)
I would suggest you to stay away from USA and JAP (i loved the jap till the o-ho, it was...a bit boring compared to tier 5-7 and they will get nerfed on derp gun)
French i don't know nothing about them despite unlocking both tier8 wich they say are good tanks (the BDGr and ARL were good to play) and prolly even tier X are but they come with autoloaders (and atm i'm not a big fan)
SWE seems a good tank (similar to french ones maybe) but autoloader aswell and i plan to grind them but atm i'm more focused on TD
So here you go
IS-7 (i can guarantee is fun, solid and fast )
Chinese
Maus

I've come from WoWS and consider WoT my main game at the moment.

Do yourself a favour and avoid T10 until you've got a lot of experience in the mid to upper tiers and you know the maps inside out.

I've grinded out multiple T10 lines but I'm still barely playing them as I consider the top tier a little out of my depth and slightly dull.

I'm actually very near finishing all the tech tree grinds that I want. Then comes the task of 3 marking all the decent stuff...

Go and look up tanks at WoT wiki. Each such topic there has a "player opinion" section, there you'll find everything you need to know.

And don't think about what tier X you want, chances are you won't last in WoT that long. This game is not everyone's cup of tea.

Also learning WoT is easier and more fun at 4-6 tiers, this where the majority of playerbase are.

430U is the best tier 10 heavy, ignore that it is labelled as a med.

I played WoWs as well, really liked it. In WoWs you are used to having multiple guns, that isn't possible in WoT, therefore I suggest the AMX 50B. It has a clip so it can shoot 4 times in quick succession, for me that feels most similar to WoWs. It also has good mobility for a heavy. It plays a bit like a battlecruiser.

Yeh except those two as they weren't realistic options for him to get, and to be fair even they can't do all the things the 430U can, cos you know all that armour with nearly 18% base camo because reasons.
