At the very end of last November we had a tank marathon on Nov 30 (friday) for the SU-130PM.

On the 25th (monday), Frontline episode 10 ends and on the 29th we will have a Friday again, a marathon would be quite likely to keep us interested until the xmas event starts.

If this happens, which tank do you think it will be, and what tank would get you interested ?

I personally suspect the E75 TS which ended up in the hands of some (probably most) CC's, and which has been played by some of those CC's  (i was opposite Bin4r_Devil in one battle when he played it).

It would also go well with the fact that Germany is one of the big 3 original nations and the only one which has not had a modern marathon.

PS: A link to the former SU-130PM marathon.

UPDATE : Rednegade might be the marathon tank.

Me neither but I do quite like the look of the E75 TS, both in looks and stats, looks like a combination of an E50 and Lowe on tier 8 so if it is that I'll probably just buy it up front.

To the right and left of the gun matlet, check the armor, that rounded part that looks like the cheeks of the Maus family of tanks.

Super weak there, and hull front as well, but if you hide and you use the good hp/t and top speed, it could work quite well as a .... heavyium.

I don't remember if they actually sold the T54E2/Renegade so far, it might be an alternative.

I hope it isn't, since it's the only upcoming Premium I'm interested in (Super Hellcat too, but more because I want to see if they have a new model for it and if they buff it a bit. I need a Tier VII For my whiny friend anyway) and marathon would mean I'd just have to buy it with a ton of extra useless goodies on top.

Unlike those tanks though the mantlet covers most of that, plus that is tanks.gg which is not great with new armour models.

No the Renegade has not been sold either, plus there is the double barrelled tank premium (which there are two versions of in the files) they might use that, as they did with the Progetto before the Italian line IIRC

Well, the old argument was that there was a fair bit of them for the last 2 years. Some with less than a month apart. And now with a long break, it's been asked about now and them. Tho iirc it was a AMA with the dev team during the summer that they more or less said there was one planned for Sept. But nothing came. Later this did appear. So I suspect there was one planned, but ditched.

Spoiler

With the recent early leaks and announcement of the upcoming loyalty rewards program. Most seem to hope it will appear there.

True, the 752 (or 750 II ... whatever it's called) is an option but i don't think they will actually make a marathon from it and here's why :

- the new format of the marathon was started when wot started to be talked about badly, and the first tank (progetto) is very very good, for both good players and bad players, it's a tank with no real weaknesses in it's playstyle and they also splurged on the marathon bundle itself with 60hs of 50% credit boosters included; subsequent marathons showed evidence of financialization, where they started to introduce useless directives to pad the bundle, while they increased it's actual cost, made it harder to run and had tanks that had legitimate weaknesses ... caern AX has low alpha and weak-ish hull, su-130pm is not as good as skorp g (which is for real money), ebr is good but it needs you to spam use of food and to be a decent player to make work, ts-5 has a bigger lower plate than the t28. I don't see them put the star of the next 6 months into a marathon when they can use it for lootboxes and really clean up.

- testing is not yet complete in time for this marathon, but it might be ready for the 2nd half of december.

- we already had a russian tank; in fact we had 2 russian (t44-100 + su-130PM), 2 americans (t25 pilot + ts-5), 1 french (ebr), 1 brit (caern AX) .... the last german marathon was the Dicker Max if i recall correctly, and that was a t6.

- i think wg is actively avoiding selling a t8 premium russian heavy tank/med for credits; i think they are afraid to cut into the profits generated by t54 mod 1, t44-100 and defender when they have so many lines of meds and heavies.

Considering the above, i think the russian double barreled heavy is a chance for them to do some heavy financialization through microtransactions, the line will have just 3 tanks but a lot of XP will be in modules (in line with the latest trend).

This leaves just the t54e2/renegade and e75 ts as viable options. But we already had 2 american t8 marathons and the fact that they produced a named/regular version of the same tank leads me to believe they might have similar plans for it as they had for t26e5/patriot and m4 49/liberte.

So that leaves E75 TS as the most likely option, which also has some real weaknesses .... the hull.

If it`s going to be a marathon, I hope it`s an old style one: deal 500.000 dmg and get 100.000 xp with tanks for each nation in the game! I remember those marathons where fun!

Sure, but only if its for a low/mid tier tankov.

I simply can't be arsed to do any for a tier 8.

With Ranked, Front Line, Several Special Events, Campaign Mission, Missions in randoms, Returning missions for King Tiger, Daily Premium missions, Tank Rewards and for us that occasionally enjoy CW/SH/Tournaments and CW Campaigns for the love of God please NO!

Burning out your community with too much game content isn't very smart. There are a lot of players like me. We either do everything or we say F it and leave the game completely.
Many of my former battle buddies only return for CW campaigns as this stage.
I think Ekeeboo mentioned this overload-syndrome as well!

I think a lot of people leave when a marathon ends because they are burned out.

Maybe WG figured they lose more than they gain through them.

Personally I went off marathons when they renamed them to snickers.;)

I was wondering how long it would take for the appearance of a Snickers quip!

Just how about no?...
There are so many different marathons and events going on that I'm losing track of what I need to do for wich and when.
What's wrong with just playing the game?
