WG, I think the game had more flavor when there was no chat police and when it was possible to talk to everyone.

If enough players agree, why no make a "mature" channel for chat, same as "chat to all" "to platoon", etc. ?

Players could then opt into this channel, for reading and optionally for writing. You could bring back voice chat for these players too.

Ok...full disclosure...from the title I thought you were suggesting a tanker-RP-sex chat channel.

Now I am a little disappointed... :(

How would you know if a ten year old (for example)is pretending to be older? The game is rated pegi7.

Whining and screeching isn't "flavor", it's just whining and screeching. Good riddance.

How to make sure no 6 year olds are playing?

I thought before the game was 18+? how was that checked?

Great idea, let’s call it the Edgelord Channel.

Are you an Edgelord? Best not to disclose that sort of hobby on the forum!

I miss all-chat sometimes, the amount of salt was hilarious. If people didnt reveal positions this would have been the best thing ever. RIP

A chat channel purely for angry prepubescent boys screaming at each other, no thanks.

That's a silly comment. A company has to meet the obligations required to be classed as pegi7. If you owned a business and your income was dependent on player numbers, would you restrict the size of customer base just so a few immature people with anger issues could swear?

As for your farcebook comment, parents have a responsibility too as well as companies.

Just like age ratings in movies, parents need to know what is the age rating for their children is to play computer games.

You can already say whatever you like to whoever you like. This strikes me as unnecessary.

What exactly is a "mature" chat channel?

Is it a channel where people have an adult discussion on aspects of the battle?

Is it a channel where people can swear, curse, insult and generally act like immature people, because its fun to swear, curse and insult?

Rumor is that the boat game for old people have a more civilized, and better developed, public chat. :)

You are both wrong about cursing, insults and swearing being immature acts.

I wonder how you came to that opinion?

You should re-read your classics. Or simply read them, actually.

your post is actually hilarious, I recently started to play WoWs and posted on their forum to observe that the carriers are like arty in WoT - a civilized post, without any naughty words - and it got quickly locked!

there is a rising need for unofficial forums for WG games.

Sorry, but you cannot compare reading classics to a pixel computer game in which players want to vent because they suck or rage at others who suck. This is an online business, in case you've forgotten, but do leave that out as you have no answer to that.

I do understand the business part, but I was making a point about cursing, insults and swearing not being immature contrary to what you wrote. Don't elude the argument.

What remains is to determine what age is ok for insults and then determine a legally safe way to offer it to qualifying players. Credit card verification might be an option.
