Hi all,

It once came to me ears that WoT dev team is tired with the gen chat and the moderators needed to sustain it. At the same time, the same dev team created the blacklist, so players can be their own moderators. But then again, the blacklist is limited to 1000, and the friendslist is limited to 500. It doesnt make any sense. I never used any game-mods, but I heard there is one to increase the blacklist limit. But since I played for some years, my blacklist is always full to the max, and to add new players, I have to release others already on my blacklist. Also 500 friends is not enough for me. I need to kick old friends to add new ones.

So my question is, why not extend the blacklist limit, teach people more active how to use the blacklist, and get rid of rednicks spamming the chat all night and banning people for no reason? The blacklist limit should be extended from 1000 to 100.000. That way you dont need chat-moderators anymore, and it will save you time and thus money. Because players are perfectly capable to blacklist players they dont like themselves. Also the friendslist should be extended to 50.000.

What you would get then is a global idea of the most blacklisted and befriended people online, and that would give you a better view on who to punish or not.

(It once came to me ears that WoT dev team is tired with the gen chat and the moderators needed to sustain it.) >> How did it come to my ears? I talked to them myself.

So please correct it so you have more time to focus on better gameplay for all of us. And please invest more time in explaining how the game works to new people, rather then to have them complaining all the time. Because that is just bad marketing. Also please focus more on nice new maps rather than specials. Racing, football, Xmas, events, frontline, its all nice, sure. But you lose focus on the regular game, which is your core-bussiness.

Best regards, Denktank72

What do you think gets filled up first for most? Friends, or the list they add everyone that hits them with arty to? As that's what most use it for. It's limited for the same reason many other stuff are. Server space. If it was unlimited, or even at 100 000, some would have 60% of the arty players on there by now and already maxed it out. For one player that's not much, but for most of the server, it adds up server space fast. And if your friend's list is maxed out. I suspect over half of them are not active daily, and have not been on for months or years for it to be a major issue. A simple solution to that would be to have the ability to sort the friend's list by

It's explained in more or less every Reddit Q&A. That and I doubt WG would find anyone willing to stare at the general chat 8 hours straight. So it's not monitored all the time. Then again, not many serious players even care about it or use it for WG to focus too much on it.

No need for a longer list, when it is full just auto remove the oldest person on the blacklist or make a button "clear" so we can clear the blacklist with one click instead of 2000 clicks....

Better yet, auto-remove players who haven't logged in during the past 6 months or a year. They're probably not coming back anyway... Maybe keep them on a separate watch-list for a bit longer, before finally fuhgeddinabouddem.

What is the point of blocking anyone for more than the one battle?  The chances of meeting them again are so slim and if you do they might not behave the same anyway.

Indeed. I have never blacklisted anyone in this or any other online game.  What's the point?

The chances of anyone coming from Mars are a million to one (he said)

I have blacklisted a few people in real life, and that seems a useful if unwelcome exercise

If people are stupid enough to blacklist 1000 people for no good reason then they can put up with the inconvenience of having to manually remove them, they deserve it.

And how do you know that when you meet them three months later that they still need blocking?

What's the point of putting an arty that does arty things on the list to begin with.

Because it was the only viable way to counter arty that focused you once upon a time while also giving them an experience in what it's like to be focused on? "you like it sport? how does it feel to have a player grief you and nobody else? Nice right?"

Spoiler

Because picking a guy and ruining his game out of the blue with no way to fight back is precisely what arty does.

Playing arty is a choice, and it used to come with consequences before FF got removed. Now it's just easy mode *Edited with no downside.
