Everyome knows there is a problem with those buggers....my solution for them would be machine guns!

So WG its time to make use of the machineguns on our tanks and give us a chance to fight these fast "tanks"

"Everyone"? I have no problem with WV. Also machineguns would bounce off their armour.

Since there is only armor behind 50 to 30% of each wheel. Leading vs them at most ranges would not do much damage to even scare them off I suspect going by... the 50cal gun we already have. And if you don't want to make it a tool for everything, the pen will be to low, and the caliber won't even overmatch anything.

Just use autoaim and they are a doddle

I think big caliber machineguns have armor pearcing ammo and it is able to penetrate up to 50mm of steel and they wpuld be effective at close range!

Depending on the strength of the steel used, a .50BMG with armour piercing rounds would be able to penetrate most of the wheeled cars, except the EBR 75/90/105 frontal armour.

20mm with armour piercing would easily manage it.

Whether any tanks have 20mm mounted as an aux. close quarter weapon is another matter.

The M2, tier 2 USA LT, has a 12.7mm (cal .50 as many know it) as main gun. It pens 27mm on avarage so it will likely bounce really a lot on EBRs.

Edit

The only 2 WV you have reasonable chance to pen with the 12.7mm are the AMD and Lynx. All the other are around 40mm frontally and it's likely the wheel will absorb even more shells thanks to the 10 caliber rule.

Also take into account that each 12.7mm shell deal an avarage of 8HP of damage and travel at most 400m in game. You're better off improving your aim with a standard tank gun than using MGs.

People the wv's are a probelm because the light tanks cant compete with them and are loosing meaning in the game! Machineguns would bu usefull in close combat and it would kill the crew or do at least critical damage to the wv. Also who doasnt like machineguns?

Just use autoaim and they are a doddle, if their wheel is damaged and being repaired or they're AFK or you're in one of those imaginary tanks where the turret can turn 360 in 0.5 seconds and there is no aim bloom on the gun.

You forgot to type the last part of the sentence, I added it for you in blue.

Everyone hates them...but I like them.

WV's wheels are full-rubber, right? I mean, not inflated, therefore not susceptible to punctures?

A Pz. I C could penetrate their side armor though, no? So OP's got a point. Ofc, low tier tank machineguns have a 400m range limit, don't forget.

Well, it's more like: there are people who don't like WV, people who like them and people who don't have problem with them. I'm in the last category. Couldn't make the tier 6 work so stopped grinding them.

About penetrating them with MGs, remember most of the MG on tanks are 12.7mm or even smaller 7.[something] that would have even less pen and deal at most 5HP per shot...

No MG can pen 50mm RHA at any range, but they can pop a tyre.

>25mm autocannon is needed.

might be mistaken but instead of 1 inner tire it are a whole bunch seperate cells, so performance is pretty equal to normal tires but way more resistant to running flat. also the outertires should be pretty thick so it is already quite resistant to puncture from terrain
