For Ranked battles a must. But then again, I do enjoy getting seen in Random battles and people greeting me. Its a nice feeling.
Never the less, for the majority a great feature, so thumbs up for that.
But when E-100 and IS-4 Buff ![]()
Look, there were a lot of good players believing they are xvm focused.
There were a lot of bad players believing they are xvm focused.
Now one player in this thread claims he feels he is xvm focused because he's "yellow".
What I think is, they all were focused because they were staying in the open like a donkeys.
And again, there is not a single word about xvm anonymizer in official news article/video.
I think that an option for it to only anonymize you to the enemy would be good. While it's good for red players to not be harassed by their teammates, a good player could take on a leadership role if their winrate is visible to their teammates. Good leadership can turn a battle, but a good player might not get the respect necessary if they can't back up their recommendations with their stats.
On the other hand, if you want to anonymize yourself to your allies as well I think it's a bad idea to expose your name to your platoon mates, because of random platoons. Better then that your real name is only shown to people on your friends list or in your clan. These are people who are already supposed to know you after all.
There should be four or five options for whom to anonymize yourself towards:
1. Everyone
2. Everyone except friends and clanmates
3. Enemies only
4. No one
(5. Everyone except friends and clanmates and platoonmates) <-- I don't see the point of this one, but it's the closest to the current state.
Finally WG, thank you, thank you, thank you! Can't wait for this to get implemented.
And guys who are crying XVM will still work, XVM is client based mod, it can't pull out from the server any data which server is not providing to the local client. So unless they will find a way to hack into the server which is highly unlikely, or this feature is badly implemented by WG, there's no way to make it work and figure out stats. ![]()
Bye bye arty focus and yolo morons. ![]()

Well when You want the people to greeting You just turn it off. This option is really good for the game. Even for red players to escape from teamates hard words.

The anonymized player will have no colour available, since XVM looks stats up based on name / ID. The best XVM will be able to do is saying "This player can't be found", meaning they are likely anonymized if they are currently playing tier X tank against you.
This is also why the article warns about platoons - when you platoon, the game needs to send your platoonmate your ID (and his to yours, so you both know you are paired now), meaning the XVM stats can be looked up. This is harder to obfuscate.

So a feature partly useful for handful of broadly known streamers.
For 99,99% of playerbase it's rather useless - I mean the point of nickname (or in game name) is to anonymize player's real identity. What's the point of anonymizing already anonymous nickname?
Nobody is anonymous to XVM.
I don't like the idea and it's sad that WG have had to do this at all. If it were up to me I would have taken down XVM instead, and made anything showing stats in battle illegal.
I'm happy for those who believe they get XVM focussed, I hope they finally find peace. But sorry to say I will still be focussing you because I never used XVM anyway.
I don't know how many low stats people it will help since it's turned off by default and it isn't obvious that turning it on will stop you getting abuse in battle. I doubt most even find their way into the settings at all anyway.
