As all you (Well most ?) know windows 7 will stop updating etc...in Jan next year so it will be defunkt really soon.

Thing is i have always used it to run my PC as i heard it was the best for running not only this game but other games??

I am now at a cross roads in this as i have just had win 10 installed in my PC and i would like to ask if any have had any problems running this game with it

(Not too sure)

...Or is it worth using another windows ??

Cheers for your experiences and opinions:medal:

There is literally zero upside to having stayed on windows 7.

I made the "switch" a couple of years ago - when the pop up started to get irritating and accidently clicked "install" instead of "later".  That said it took awhile to get used to the way things are presented visually as well as having "cortana" constantly popping up!   A lot of the extra bits are related to "mobile devices" so can be ignored.

Windows did block a lot of the apps I use (firewall) and needs to be "accepted", also in (my case) the Audio settings (speakers/headset), Printer etc had to be reset.

Overall don't notice the change. (make sure you set "when the Windows" downloads happen - mine usually about 22.00hrs when i am in battle ( lags like a ******).

Where and when did you hear that?

There may have been some incompatible games when Windows 10 first came out but that was how many years ago now?

So as long as you have a system which has drivers available then there will be no issue.  Then again if you've just bunged Windows 10 on a 15 year old system then you might run into some problems with drivers.

You can switch that feature off.

Been using W10 since day one. Never had an issue with regards to running the game. It's been smooth since day one.

There are ofc other differences and issues, upsides and downsides with Win 7 vs 10. But with regards to games... not really.

And vs day one the Win 10 experience is different. Most things people hated early on like Cortana and forced updates can now be shut off etc for it to be a major issue.

The only other supported option is Windows 8. And if you want a trash gaming experience. Then that's not a bad pick.

I guess its sometimes the downfall of relying on the WWW...when Win 10 first came out i had a good look on the web to see peoples thoughts and they were not good

in gaming communities..Hence i stuck with Win 7..

Thanks for that it instills a bit of confidence to me as there is nothing more annoying than a DC mid game:honoring:

Yep took a day to get rid of "her" and turn off the mic & camera feature.  not tech savvy - I fix problems by pushing the "power" button :child:

I have a laptop for work and cortana is muted so should be easy on the other PC to sort..

Just was not sure about win 10 running this game tho??...cheers me-deers

1. Just because Mircosoft stops updating Win7, Win7 will not be "defunkt" soon.

2. Nevertheless, Win10 is quite good and you can buy cheap (and valid) Win10 license on ebay. (the only drawback - this license is for new install only, so you have to reinstall your PC)

3. You can buy upgrade Win10  license from Microsoft for list price.

Last Win 10 licence I bought was from a place that sells CD keys taken from decommissioned PCs - only cost £10 for Win 10 Professional.

You can still do the free upgrade from Windows 7 if you are willing to tell a little untruth.

I thought it was just offered as standard, well I hope so as I keep meaning to getting around to do it. Just need to work out if I’m going to be ok driver wise.

They supposedly only offered it for a year but left it open ended for disabled users.

Although I downloaded the Windows update tool to fix a problem with a Windows 10 machine which wouldn't update and it didn't ask any questions so they may have opened it up to everyone again.

Changed to Win10 a few months ago as well and...

...it's not as bad as I had thought.

There's some things to get used to, but all of the games I was playing regularly work without issues.

Was a minor thing with getting steam to recognise my library, but that was a fairly simple solution as well.

Copy your steamapps folder somewhere else, run steam, then copy it back.

Win 10 will run this game, but that doesn't mean it will like all Win7 era software or hardware.

This is true as M$ never removed the offer.

But there is a sting. Mt HDD boot died and when I tried to reinstall Win7 M$ had made its reg void so it will not load or update to 10 as M$ claim its a stolen reg, and they never give you the reg code for Win 10 when you upgrade.

But you can get really cheap codes for Win 10 via Amazon or EBay, just don't ever buy RRP from M$.

eg https://www.amazon.c...811727&sr=8-15  Win10 for less than a tenner

Hmmm, I'm still running the 7 as well. Do I need to save files before the update or is it as straight forward as it gets?

URGENT - Back up any picture files or saved documents - WIN10 wipes them!  :izmena:

If you did the upgrade from 7 to 10 you didn't get a key but the system was registered with MS by it's CPU/MB identity.

All you had to do was install Win10 on the new HDD, I did this on my desktop only a couple of weeks ago.  That was a windows 7 upgrade and since I was swapping to SSD I decided to have a nice fresh new Windows installation to go with it.  No need for a product key, no need to put Windows 7 on first, and it registered straight away online.
