I respectfully disagree, yes this event is much easier to complete when you're a good player, yes it's extremely difficult to complete for not so good players as they need to put a lot of hours in it, but in the end whatever structure of the event wouldn't be, good players will always complete it easier and faster, there's no way to make it equal for everybody. And since WG didn't wanted to just distribute the tank, they wanted to make it challenging even for better players, the requirements were the way they were. There's tank rewards now that require you to just play a certain amount of battles, and still people complain that those who own tier X's have it easier, that it's too many battles to play etc. There's no way to make it other way if the rewards are supposed to be good. They gave free tier 7 reward tank for everybody who has account for 4 years and above, without any other requirements, and people still cry that the tank is not so good, but if they would give awesome tank to extremely large number of players it would destroy MM on that tier completely and for a long time.

And Frontline this year was event for all players where you could get pretty nice rewards, either 2 tier 8 premium tanks, or tier 8 premium and tier 9 reward tank, plus a lot of very nice side rewards. It wasn't difficult to complete for players with all kinds of skill, it just required you to grind and to do it efficiently. Sadly players with less skill didn't even bothered to check and figure out how the XP is accumulated during battles, they thought it's just about destroying the objective, so they were going in their light tanks as soon as one of the fronts was completed and objective opened and they were destroying guns asap, failing to even make to the Captain rank and they were surprised that it's too difficult. Meanwhile if you played for the XP it wasn't that hard to get the General or at least Major, but many people didn't cared and they branded the event too grindy, but there was 10 weeks to complete it.

I agree with what you say. This challenges don't need to change, I'm fine with them. What WG must do is help new players get into the game with challenges for them. What good is a tier 8 tank for a player at tier 4, even if they did get it what would they do with it, except die quickly. How many times on this forum have new players been told to stay at lower tiers until they know the game. A good reward for new players would be a challenge which gives a 3 skill crew instead of a tank.

Well this year there has been a chance for new players to get at least the following tanks for free: M10 RBFM, Ram II, M4 Improved, T14, Scorpion (US TD), Pz T15, Pz S35 and MKA. Last year there were also easy campaigns for T34 shielded, TKS20 and MTLS-1G14. Frontline game mode was also a way to get at least the STA-2 quite easily, even for a new player. On top of that you can get low tier premiums with bonds.

So there are tons of bonuses and campaigns for new players.

"On top of that you can get low tier premiums for bolds" . :teethhappy: A new player may have the bonds to buy a repair kit more like it. 33000 battles in less than three years, I don't think you know what a new player is.

Well I was trying to be polite, but take it as you wish.

I could've also said that people without any skill after 50k games can still get their premiums even if these Marathons are too much to handle. But I see no reason to use that kind of language.

But seriously, in Frontlines you can get a bunch of bonds even as a newer player. And the tier 5-6 premiums don't cost that many bonds in the shop. So I really don't see your point or reason for getting agitated.

EDIT: Also, gotta love the way you disregarded 90% of my message just to nitpick on a sidenote. gj

EDIT2: Now that we are nitpicking, you do realize that you can get a low tier premium for LESS bonds than the repair kit? Why are you even asking if you don't want a response?!

Didn't disregard your post as I agree with most of it, just having a bit of fun. My main point is when you start playing this game the best thing you could get is a good crew not another tank however shiny it looks.

I got it with a reasonable price 24,9€, i was not going to buy it until i realized i reached level 6 (60% discount)

When the quest started; i was not eligible to start that mission as i had no T6. I had to buy the T64 premium tank 2 days after it started. i had no T8 until saturday when i bought the Skorpion G.

My first heavy all tiers, never made that amount of money and no i am not a paid actor

Spoiler

Now that the marathon is over and I have finished it on stage 6, so I only get 60% discount. When do I have to purchase the tank on discount by before I lose the discount?

TODAY.

p. s. I've reached mine -70% on Saturday, so I even haven't try to bother about some more discount and have purchased it at the same evening.

p. p. s. The most stupid mine battles where those "Tier 12", full of tier 10 tanks, to be clear. I've played two battles per day with tier 10 because of other minimarathon, and most of these battles were awful.....

i have the same question , i was 3.2 K exp from 70% but didn't have any time to complete it . I would have though if the servers were working last week because i can only play at a certain time of the day for about 1-2 hours . So it would be fair to give us another day or at least some more time for the discount because as it is now i `m not buying . At 70% and next week i would.

Fair enough.

I would just say that in three years the situation for new players has improved quite a lot.

You now have two personal mission campaigns giving easy rewards.

You can use directives for 6th sense.

You can train crews with credits.

You have frequent frontline episodes for easy rewards.

You have tank rewards for free tanks.

You have way more specials offering xp bonuses.

I had to play first few thousand battles without 6th sense as I was grinding couple of lines.

Also personal reserves giving you +50%, +100% on XP, or +100%, +200%, +300% on crew XP, when I was starting the game there was no such thing as personal reserves at all, all you had was just premium account. Also now premium account offers 5 x3 bonuses you can apply at will to any victory.

And most importantly, you forgot blueprints, which gives pretty nice XP discounts on the tanks you're gridning, that's really nice addition to speed up your grind through the line.

Speeding up the tank xp grind might not be ideal for new players, though.

In case of going to high tiers too quickly yes you're right, but in case of playing lots of battles in the stock tank vs upgrading quickly all the modules it's definitely good, as stock tanks are just terrible.

Still, better that they go to higher tiers on their tech tree tanks and figure out it's too quickly, rather than them going to premium shop and buying tier 8 premium very fast, before knowing the vehicles, which many players do. (Including myself when I started :hiding:)

That is a good point. Driving stock tanks is just a pain in the buttocks.

dont spend any money nor time into aquiring premium tanks as most of you will not even play a 100 battles in them , as the other guy said, gold is ur most flexible resource

Honestly at this stage, getting more premiums it's just for fun or because you really like them.

The crew books pretty much destroyed the need for prems of specific nations, when you have 1-2 solid prem as money makers, it's much easier run those and get 2mil silver to buy crew book for nation X, so with a couple of solid t8 prem, you're good to go.
