Asking the more mature and adaptable players in here before it gets pulled from the shop

Is it a wee troublemaker?

I'm a bothersome T103 player and I'm wondering

100 ton tank that goes 40km/h. What can possibly go wrong?

Ramming Speed! :izmena:

I'm not taking any action so don't worry, but I'd like to ask if it's possible to try not to make two immediate separate threads within like, 5 Minutes of each other. It is possible to both edit the subject as well as the title to effectively combine both threads if you suddenly have a new idea for a thread, rather than creating a separate one. There is also already a topic of the similar subject a few threads down:

http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/727524-i-bought-the-kv-5-is-it-worth-it/

Just some constructive criticism. o7

Regarding the actual subject, it depends. Compared to your T-103 It's probably fairly different. It's a pretty mobile superheavy and against lesser skilled players or people just not familiar with the tank (considering rarity), it's fairly strong and the armour is usable. In a top tier match-up it's arguably quite the beast, more so for bullying the unfortunate lower tiers than what you're directly matched up against, as the gun will struggle against some of your same tier friends. It's much more viable to remove some of the fodder where possible, opening up the opportunity for you to take on that same tier Heavy with a couple of friends instead.

Yea its a pretty decent buy imo at 25 quid. Pretty stupid as top tier, although uptiered games will be a bit painful with just 219 gold pen.

Nope, you struggle a lot with the gun since it's underpowered, everyone will easily pick ur front radio operator turret wich is on the front side and a lot of tank will be able to pen ur turret even if it is angled
Save ur money and/or buy somethin else

KV-5 was fantastic and maybe the best premium tier 8 heavy. Now, it still can do something I guess, but the pure awesomeness is gone.

Meme tank. The gun is weak, the armour is peculiar. But it wieghs 100 tons in game and can hit 40kmh. If you can find a hill, and get down it to ram something the KV-5 is worth £50 just for the few times when the ram comes off and you hit the enemy before he can move. This is the ram tank par excellance. For everything else it's a bit medicore. But it is damn funny ramming stuff. Yes I own one.

I have mine since 2012 or 2013. It was really fun to play with back then and even nowadays it can get a good match-up but usually it is just an underdog. KV-5 is one of the most outdated tanks of the game, I would spend my money on something else instead.

A few weeks ago, my team were struggling in the forest on Murovanka against a Defender when I got some speed up with the Kv5 (pretty good since the recent buffs) over one of the little hills to kill off the enemy defender with a nice RAM, got KV5 rules in the chat:trollface:

Gun is good enough for weak points, most difficult adversaries are Skorpion G at range and Defender close up. If you can get into face hug situation with Defender you can hit the cupolas pretty easy with KV5 due to its height,.. often the team are very hesitant in taking on the Defender so I thinks its duty to go in and kill the thing:justwait:
