I must say, to not give anything to players starting this year feels bad. At least to me. I keep hearing making the game as pleasant as possible for new players is a priority, but you kinda keep missing out on very basic things.

 

Outside of that, congrats to all the veterans who did receive gifts. Especially those 'seasoned enough' to be worth a tank.

According to WG, you have been playing for less than 365 days = 0 years = no gifts. Next year though.

That one was researched long ago so I guess it got converted to something else. Not sure why I got it in the first place though.

By this strategy I can stop playing and come after 5years. 

Normally will be - "Thanks for joining WoT this year and will give you 100 x5 to help research tech trees", for example...
