Ok! Ok! people have obviously done this mission and it's inevitable someone is going to turn up and say it's easy but for me it's just stupid.

 

The requirements are contradictory; do 25% of the entire damage of your team and win.

 

If I'm doing 25% of the total damage on my team, my team are bloody useless and there's very little chance I'm winning.

 

Here are my options:

US: Pilot, M48A5 Patton, T29, T34b, AE Phase 1, Super Hellcat, E3

UK: FV4303, Caernarvon AX, Charioteer, FV215b (183), FV207

Poland: 45TP

 

I should say I'm hopeless in the Patton and the Deathstar. So what's the best option, play the T29 where the players are worse and it's more likely you are going to get top tier or maybe the E3 and wade through dozens of single tiered games in the hopes of getting something top tier you can bully your way through?

 

Just seems like a really poorly thought out mission to me, down almost entirely to luck.

It's basically just unfortunately a case of getting a really good game alongside a really bad team. Honestly, I actually skimmed over how annoying the mission was over most of my remaining missions requiring Top Guns, since I managed it almost immediately after turning the mission on:

I'd stick with T29 Out of your options, since the lower health pool at the tier means it should be much easier to accomplish, and being a strong tank and all means it should be easier to carry that terrible team to victory. 45TP Is viable too but I'd say T29 Is stronger, the only option I might say out of those myself is Charioteer, but not the best for actually carrying the game to a victory.

25% is just a bit over the 20% required by an High Caliber medal. Just need one of those games where you farm tanks over tanks.

Literally just got top tier in the FV215b, 6 kills, 5.5k damage. Only missed by a bit. Annoyingly the sound effect went off for a completed campaign mission before the screen came up …. TD 12 for the Obj 260 so it wasn't a complete loss.

Hmm … T29 has been my tank of choice with this but haven't been getting near tbh.

It's the winning bit that thwarts it when you do get the 25%.

Don't tell me. TD-12 Is that friggin' 5k damage + 3 Internal modules isn't it. I've had that active for so long, it's my only mission bar TD-15 (260) That I haven't done.

OMG did back to back OBJ 260 missions in successive games TD12 (which is 4k damage and kill 3 heavies btw - not modules) and TD13 which is just kill 5 tanks (did that in the Jackson).

 

And low and behold what's TD 14 for the Obj 260? … Do 25% of your teams total damage and win. So now I literally have to do the thing twice. Unless I do it in the Deathstar then they both go in 1 game.

I would spam the Deathstar! 2 mission in one game are nice.

Wait, you have the E3! That can do the trick even better using the thick armour.

Also don't be shy to load some APCR if needed.

For Chimera set I have one Coalition mission to do 5 Kills, and two (Bloc + Coalition) that are 6 Kills (have to be 2 Different types). I had a fourth, but spent an Order on it since I had a spare after spending 3 On Union-15. They're a right pain in the rear. I would take damage percentage missions over them every day, considering I have 305 Top Guns in 18,290 Battles, and 1057 High Cals.

Yeah I do like playing the E3 but I find it difficult to get very high damaging games in it, I think because it's OK up close but as soon as there's any distance to the target the shots tend to go all over the place.

I think I'm the opposite, if there's the opportunity to play tier 6 I'd take the kills, you can time your shots waiting for the right moment ..

Chimera is Tier VII Minimum IIRC. And besides that Super Hellcat reward today, I own no Tier VIIs in my garage.

You will need around :

Tier 7 - 3500 damage

Tier 8 - 4500 damage

Tier 9 - 5500 damage

Tier 10 - 6500 damage

25% in tier X's is a bit more tricky tbh. 25% in a tier 9 as top tier is bit easier vs it. So I used the T95 to do it on mine. I got Paris and pushed the middle and flanked the HT lane vs tier 8 and 7 guns when I did mine. Still took a few attempts tho.

Yeah tier 6 for the 260, tier 7 for the a Chimera, I have digressed.

Seriously though: T29 or Phase or CaernAX, if you can afford to buy regular Caern then do so, it's the most ridiculous OP bs i've ever played. All this tanks are about the same - impenetrable turrets.

Play till you get a decent map with you being +2 teirs and seize the opportunity.

Its not one of those missions that happen sooner or later during the normal course of play (for me at least). Thanks for the target figures, something to aim for now.

I'm only just coming out of the 'this'll happen during the normal course of play' stage, yeah I'll start really focusing on achieving it now. At least its not as map dependent as the 8k combined light tank 260 mission which I have actively been trying for months.

I have Paris blocked, I guess with this mission and the E3 and FV it might be time to give Paris a little breathing space.
