That's the online store advent calendar you're looking at, NOT the in-game event advent calendar.
That said, it probably shouldn't be possible to open the online store advent calendar early anyway...

They did introduce the Chieftain on console and I believe on Asia and USA servers. Maybe they just don't want the brits to get it

It was introduced on Console as an alternative Tier X British Heavy (and I think they did the same with the S.Conq because they don't remove vehicles?) and otherwise available on Chinese server, but both are their own separate games effectively from ours.

I'm a forum moderator buddy, not a WG Employee. I have no such information, and frankly have probably like you been wanting the Chieftain for as long as it's been in the files. I even made a Berlin Brigade skin for it like 2-3 Years ago thinking it was coming soon!

WG web site says the advent calendar will be available on 1st December, because you know... Sunday is the 1st advent.
But the event wont actually start until 2nd December.
I know this Christianity thing is pretty new and these things are hard for small indie publishers like WG

Why do we have to click on the in garage/laager sign to get the daily mission, tec issue or just pulling us into the shop?
I forgot to do this before playing this morning and it's bloody irritating.
Can we, please, just have this automatically update daily?

Well for starters this is WoT's Advent Calendar, it really doesn't have to be specifically Christian - it's just inspired. But anyway you may not consider the event started until you see a tank for sale, but we did announce in the video you can find in the publication that the first day would have been just missions.

The game is programmed in a very specific way - because of this it's much more likely that you will have to manually activate missions more often than not. I agree with you that I would prefer to just have it activated it automatically and I will forward your suggestion anyway, but it's unlikely that it's going to be changed this way. Consider it a quirk of our title.

As far as I know, there have been 3 attempts to balance the tank since in its current state it is considered too strong and being freely available as a tech tree tank would 'break' TX (even more). WG want to have a full line leading up to the Mk6 and had trouble fitting it into the tech tree, and so they have tried to rework the armour and the shells were nerfed in a way not to be too strong, but that meant that the tank became too weak unless it was given realistic armour values in spots, which then made it too strong and so the plans have been shelved.
However, when I compare the Chieftain with the CW Chieftain (https://tanks.gg/compare/chieftain?t=t95fv4201), the former trades better gun stats for worse mobility, worse armour and worse VR... And yet the CW Chieftain is considered 'perfectly fine' even though its not. SOme people already consider it negatively impacting TX (and T8-9) gameplay, but since they are not yet available in such large numbers, its impact is ignored / considered negligable by WG. If WG would release the Mk6 in its current state as a TX tech tree tank, a significantly large® numbers would flood the game; Imagine 200k Chieftains vs the 10k* we have now...
*I know my numbers are off, but you get the point I am trying to make...
