Sixth sense feels broken, I am always getting shot and my sixth sense will alert me after being shot.

You do know it goes off 3s after you have been spotted, so you can easily be shot before it goes off, so don't overly rely on it, if you think you might get spotted pull back into cover immediately.

There is a delay of about 3 seconds between getting spotted and your 6th sense going off. This is intended, not a bug :)

Peek and pull back. Wait a few seconds. If it doesn't go off you're probably safe.

what he said.  The tactic is to go to a point you may be spotted, assume you are pull back.  if the lightbulb doesn't go off you wasn't...    Always assume you will be spotted.   Also don't knock things over.  arty can see this regardless and if you are knocking trees over all tanks can see the direction of travel (in most cases the trees fall in the general direction you are travelling in)

I always love when I am with a TD in a bush someone comes knocks trees passing by and then I get the shots of the arty :teethhappy:

Worth noting that directives knock an extra second off if the commander is fully 6th sense trained.

It's not a magic solution... Usually if something is stupid then 6th Sense isn't going to save you.

This is true. I have 6th sense on nearly all of my commanders, but a significant percentage of my colleagues at work remain stupid. :(

Sixth sense is ideal to alert you  in case you miss the three or four loud bangs and the fire and the missing tracks and the massive fall in hp as half the enemy team shoot you 0.000001 seconds after being spotted.
