And RAM.

But I'm confused about something: I have a cable that has 6+2 pins on one end and 8 pins on the other. This GPU has 8 pins.

Obviously, the 8 pin end of the cable goes to the card but do I need to connect the 6+2 pins to the PSU or will the 6 pin suffice?

I have the NOX Hummer 650W Bronze Edition as the PSU

The cable for PCI-E GPUs should have the 8 pin end in red plastic. That goes into the red socket on the PSU. You then plug it into the GPU as either as a 6 pin cable, or the full 8, as the video card needs.

Silly me! Makes perfect sense since the PSU has a red plug and the cables too!

Thank you!

wait, you got yourself an RX 580 now?
those are going to be obsolete since the RX 5500 will be available soon.

I personally replaced my RX 480 which is now 3y old

by an RX 5700 xt :coin:
