What is the best armoured French tank from tier 8 till 10 ?

 

By best armoured I don't necessarily mean thickest armour but getting most riccochets.

Tier 9 heavy tank. The Foches can also bounce thousands of hp, but only in certain situations. If they get spotted at 500 meters for example. Armor layout of the Liberté is quite well known now I guess, it still can bounce.

AMX M4 51 - totally

 

It might well be the best T9 heavy tank bar none.

Havent played that one. But i've never had any problems "dealing" with them - so i guess its not that great.

 

50TP seems slow, slow to reload and the LFP is weak, and there are soft spots all over the hull and turret

Wheelchairs, those magic wheels absorb everything easily. Just show only your side to the enemies.

Foch TD's have all their armour negated by the gigantic viewport cupola weakspots that make up the upper 25% of the tanks frontal profile.

AMX M4 51 have great armor but when you face tier 10 gold you have none. When 300+apcr hits you straight into the turret - everything goes in.
hull side - you can't sidescrape even one degree or you will be penned, it has only 60mm of armor. But against lower tiers or any standard ammo - show front and try to hide cupolas and you're golden.
It's decent tank though. Somehow fast, better than Conqueror IMO.
Tier 10 is also okay but seems MEH besides S. Conqueror and other hull-down tanks.
I would rather play WZ-5A which has only 1 degree of gun depression less but have decent alpha, excellent mobility and penetration.

Bottom line - AMX M4 51. Tier for tier, the best armor among french tanks.
