Hey, so i am currently going through the american turreted TDs, i loved T67, hellcat and didnt really mind t25/2. So now i am playing the T28 prototype and i have to say i am having a blast with it. The stock grind was absolutely terrible, with a really bad gun and awful mobility. Now i have over 100 battles, i got my first MoE today and some ace tankers and i have been enjoying it a lot. The 120 mm gun feels really nice with pretty amazing base dpm and the frontal armour is pretty decent, especially when top tier. Its still really slow tho. I am looking forward to T30, even tho there is a lot of mixed opinions about it out there. I do want to try the non-turreted line as well so i am gonna stick to my T28 Prot.

Thats pretty much what i wanted to say, because i didnt find lot of discussions about this tank and people mostly say it sucks.

If you have something to add or if you have any advise for tier 9 and 10 or the other american TD line, let me know.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day ;)

honestly i found it a useless piece of [edited] but im happy that someone is able to find fun in playing it!
Just be warned that the T30 stock grind is horrid. The 120mm has good DPM but you get the same gun handling as the 155mm but with worse dispersion so its a really poor experience. I, like the idiot I am, opted for grinding it with the T29s 105mm, the 120mm just felt that bad for me. It can be quite fun when elite, although not the kind of tank you want to play multiple games in a row with since the 155mm can troll you so hard.

I liked that tank, too. The canon is good, the armor is good enough against snapshots and long range fire, the turret makes it kind of versitile, it can defend itself better against flankers due to the turret and it can serve as emergency heavy, if needed. In my opinion there are quite a few better tanks, but i still liked it. It looked better with an open top though....

I hated the T28proto. Armour is nothing special, can't be angled but the tank is so slow you can't really bully anything different from 150 pen HTs.

I much more prefere the T30. Turret actually have position were it can be angled against gold and hulldown is still strong. Plus 750 alpha scare basically any tank in game, while 400 is laughable from tier 9 up.

T30 is a beast, but be prepared, the big gun will troll you from time to time. I rage sold mine once after tinging lightt tanks a few times.

I liked playing mine years and YEARS ago, relatively good Camo back then and a nice punchy gun.

Nowadays it probably struggles more then it needs to.

I had it before and couldn't manage to grind stock, without premium account when it has 18 km/h top speed.
After it got buffed i rebought it and grinded both T30 and T28. T30 is still in my garage.
T28 was fine. When bottom tier - snipe, when top tier - go to front. And never sidescrape, just peak like a bot because armor works best then, just like with french M4 heavies and Panzer Shoe (Pz VII and VK 72.01 K).
DPM and base pen are nice too so you don't need much gold ammo.

Hello all, I just managed to develop the T28 proto a week (of pain) ago and I discovered something that left me confused and uneasy.

There is a face inside the freaking cannon barrel.

Please, someone with this tank, tell me that I'm not seeing things.

The TD is slow, hard to move to a good position, not very stealth-friendly and you tend to forget that it doesn't have 360º rotation in the wrong moment. The armor bounces sometimes but the T25/2 also bounces sometimes too. Still, better not be in front of it without cover.
