The best way to spend your money in WOT is to buy 75 boxes once a year. Thats 100 euros per year. You dont need to spend more after that. You re not getting a good value.

Massively debatable.

100€ to maybe get nothing is a big big gamble, better do focused purchase, a year of prem on discount and a solid t8 are a much better investment for 100€.

They will never be worth their price since they are imaginary boxes of none-existing "products".

Wouldn't that logic make a movie not worth it either? You are paying for some entertainment, many of us these days pay for entertainment that is not a tangible thing (streaming, cinema, spotify, tv subscriptions etc.) you are more paying to access entertainment.

The worth is then whether buying the boxes helps or increases your enjoyment of the game which will be down to the individual.

Agreed - I've spent more than the cost of 75 boxes on  a bottle of rum, and that was gone three days later

In most of the world, for most people, $200 is more than the monthly wage...

Definitely.

Although I haven't paid for sprouts in years (pretty good at growing my own).

Trouble is, some genius had the idea of wrapping them in bacon - now I have to pay for bacon:ohmy:

Turnips - maybe in a nice beefy stew.

Over here it is less than 14% of a monthly minimum wage. You can't live on that, by the way. So it really depends on where you are from. :-)

Buying one lottery ticket and winning 100 million is also value for money. How people value money differs. What feels like value to you might not be value to someone else. Also what you got will in no way represent what other people get, so by listing your stuff all you do is making people think they will be equally lucky. You're a gullible fool

I dont understand why the tank skins are not in the premium shop, maybe the last year skins also. An unlucky idiot that i know, last year was buying whole packs just to get the batchat skin(his favourite tank),and im talking for a LOT of lootboxes. You could be selling these skins for 4.99- 9.99 like crazy. You want only the E100 skin? buy one. Sell the 703 or the E75TS in an expensive bundle also. Still better than having people gambling as their only way for them.Yeah i know,i know someday these tanks will be available in a bundle.Call it as you want but releasing new content in lootboxes only is gambling.

3 boxes have worst outcome, 750gold,3 days of prem and 300k silver.Do you get 5.99 euro worth of stuff?.Personally i dont think so.I wouldnt give a F for 300k silver, thats the equivalen of a game in FL or for some tier 2-5 tank that i will never play.I am sure for some people these boxes might worth the price(stocking up gold with big packs),by all means keep buying them.

These "success" stories with big loots gonna convince some gambling fool wasting lots of money going for that 703,(probably not disposable income) and end up eating cans for a month

In 2-3 years lootboxes for all online games will be probably banned in whole EU,milk em for as long as you can WG .

What the hell man.

This is a very particular context we're having a chat in:

WoT and it's loot boxes and their content which is relevant in WoT exclusively.

The guy just said he got good value for money, in this particular context (that btw you're also supposed to be talking in).

Anyway, he was and is correct, those premium tanks etc are worth much more (in WoT, again) than what he paid for those loot boxes that dropped them.

Calling him a "gullible fool" for that just sucks.

Yeah, in this day and age you pay for entertainment. I don't have a problem with that. But WG's approach is like, if you want to watch gremlins for x-mas you buy a gremlin ticket which has the chance to have a Gremlin movie inside. And in the end you end up with all Gremlins movies. So you think you got a good deal but you forget you only wanted to see one movie.

The last part is important, because, you can play the game just fine without re-training you crews for gold all the time. But because you end up with a shitton of gold you spend it although you didn't plan to do it anyway.

Other analogy, you go to a cofffee-bar to get a coffee for €5.00. But you can't have only one coffee, you have to spend 10 euro and you get a tea, warm chocolate and 2 coffee. Good deal in terms of value you think until you realize you don't even like tea and in the end you spent double of what you planned to.

The initial value question is irrelevant given the main reason people will be buying the boxes, is the box exclusive tanks.  For gamblers, value is never a major part of the calculation.   Conditioned thinking and sunk costs factor more highly and loot boxes play upon this.  They are basically immoral, in that they exploit these human weaknesses to make a profit and shift the onus of blame unto the gambler and their impulse control while appealing directly to it.

Perhaps you need to take a step back and look at it from a different perspective. Some people like to buy gold, premium time and tanks. The loot boxes give you all of that, with the chance of getting (a lot!) extra. If WG were to sell these items seperately like they normally do, they would make *more* money. Because people like me buy gold anyway. We buy premium time anyway. Fancy new premium tank? Yep, we buy that, too. I spent 100 euro on a bunch of boxes. I got 37K gold and a T8 premium tank, not to mention premium time and some lower tiers. WG lost money right there. I would have bought the same seperately anwyay. It would have cost me 200 euro.

I do not have a gambling addiction. I just don't mind spending money on things I like. The fact I like single malt costs me a lot more than this game. :-)
