i like how u assume there is 75 boxes package again, as far as i heard they did some nice devious math on how many boxes people actually bought and to get people to buy more packages they cut up the offers into smaller pieces so u spend even more money and now the maximum package only will have 42 boxes or some weird number like that

it's not a fallacy. I would've bought 30k gold for 100eur. I ended up with 35k for 100 eur plus some tanks I like playing.

but the math holds only for big pack(and not being extremely unlucky). Otherwise, yes, the statement they always net at least the paid value is a marketing gimmick.

If you buy 3 boxes and get only 750 gold and in rest credits, they net the paid value only accounting wise because wg decided that x credits are worth y eur. Though probably you would never pay y eur for x credits if offered standalone.

That is true if you have no interest in Premium time or Gold which are the backbone of the WoT economy, which just happens to be the main filler in the boxes.

he's right in a way; if you are interested in premium time, probably/hopefully you aren't buying it by the day/week. As the price is horrid for those time intervals.

plus, if you buy it by the day, at least you have the advantage of being able to trigger the premium time when you have time to play. With boxes, you get the premium time added for the next days, regardless of you having time to play or not.

I hear some Belgian people actually circumvented the loot box ban last year by having someone gifting them boxes from abroads.

So basically smuggling virtual loot boxes. Modern problems require modern retarded solutions.

Truthfully, the answer is yes AND no.

They are worth nothing more, or less, than you are willing to pay for them.

Basically yep. If you’re the type of player who buys gold and runs with a premium account then it’s a good deal. If you don’t and you buy them because they are a ‘bargain’ then you’ve probably made a mistake.

Yeah, I just mean that you could be that unlucky to have a net loss. And they said that couldn't be the case. That's why I'm a bit confused. I know that on average you'll get more than you pay for but what about those unlucky ones that don't? That shouldn't be a thing because then it would actually be gambling if you could lose and yeah... everybody knows everyone's opinion on that.

It's a matter of perspective: WG simply defines that each premium day is nominally worth 250 gold, and the official in-game gold->credit conversion rate is 1:400, so 250 gold are "worth" 100k credits. Of course nobody actually pays those prices but uses the massive discounts available. But that way WG can say that the content of each box is worth at least 500 gold, and can then set the price accordingly. Everything else is based on that.

They do the same when specifying the discounts on bundle-packages: sum up the nominal gold value of all contents (where applicable), check how much that amount would cost in cash and compare that to the actual bundle price. As a result bundels that contain equipment, consumables or credits generally come up with a pretty large discount which doesn't really exist when using real-world conversion rates.

Well, for starters you seem to assume that the level V Chirstmas decoration has no worth at all.

Well, the decorations don't have a price tag attached, so they are out of the equation, pretty simple. Just like for example x5 missions also have no official gold price, so WG cannot account for them when specifying discounts.

The whole WoT economy is based on gold value / conversion rates and the corresponding cash pricetags.

Because everything has a monetary value....including credits and premium tanks.

In 2017 for my €100, I got in return approx €160 of Gold, credits, low tier premium tanks and premium days.

In 2018 for my €100, I got in return approx €300 of Gold, credits, T8 and T5 premium tanks and premium days......still have 298 days of premium left from that.

Basically this.

75 boxes for 100 euros is the best deal. You get guaranteed value of 150-300 euros.

The best way to spend your money in WOT is to buy 75 boxes once a year. Thats 100 euros per year. You dont need to spend more after that. You re not getting a good value.

So they only keep their premise to be worth it if you apply the worst prices you could get? I cannot believe that, why would everybody go crazy about how good they are then?

Because if you tell a bunch of people that something is a good deal, some of them will actually believe it.

you're getting a real value of ~80-150. Depending on your luck.

The rest is stuff you wouldn't pay for in the 1st place. I got 3(?) t5s last year; do you think I'd ever buy them? Or I ever played them for that matter? I got a defender(I hate heavy gameplay, I hate bad guns). Do you think I'd ever pay 35 eur for it? Or anything for that matter? Given I have 0 games in it in 1 year. Same with premium and so on. Would I ever buy credits with gold? Really...

that being said, yes, last year they were the best offer assuming you're not extremely unlucky. Talking about the 75 pack. The others: depends on how many of the premiums you already had. If you had none, 25 was already probably worse than straight buying gold.

They will never be worth their price since they are imaginary boxes of none-existing "products".

Still a rather arrogant assumption to simply put them out of the equation.

Also come to think of it three or four years ago (when they started the whole decoration business) you could buy the decorations separately. With varying price tags depending on which type of decoration it was, but the cheapest ones were 1€ for a random tierV decoration.

So actually there IS a price tag that could easily be taken into account.

Don't especially want gold its not needed for much in the game and when I have a lot of it I start unlocking tanks and modules/

That's what happened to most of the gold I got last year, right now I have 2600 gold so when I see It would take most of thet to unlock the udes 16 I don't do it.

If I have 15 or 20 thousand gold I might spend it.

For regular game use I have almost abandoned gold, removing equipment well occasionally retraining crews again sometimes but crew books mean I don't really need to do that now.

Premium time well I am still working on the years premium I bought a a great discount last time.

I want a high festive level as quickly as possible to grind even more credits I want the female crew and the new tank styles

Secondary to that I want the 3 premium tanks I do not have

Third I want the flowery camo finish to stick on my type 5 heavy.
