How do people even enjoy playing artillery?

When I played artillery last this was several years ago and back then arty caused much more damage without the silly useless stun effect.

Other than that, I have noticed three things that just make artillery boring af to me:

1. Whenever you do have a team that scouts for you and uncovers enemy tanks, these tanks are shot down before you are even able to zoom in/ let the circle get small / take your shot. So there is rarely a chance of hitting as gameplay seems to be way too hectic for artillery now, for whatever reason.

2. The damage I cause with artillery is quite the joke now..back then it was 2 shots and your enemy was done or had most his moduels gone at least, now you are not much better than a medium tank and I don't really see the point of it...

3. You can't even choose the map... I dont want to play on city maps with my arty, it gives me a great disadvantage and is everything but fun.

You can scold me for not liking artillery, but this is just how I feel and most others as well, hence artillery is the least played " vehicle " in the game.

Rushing the enemy with a tank destroyer is more fun.

1. Well, maybe you just dont know how to  play arty properly, for me any my arty this isnt a major problem. Pre-aiming and expecting where the enemy will be is the key.

2. I agree, arty used to do much more damage, but at least to me the current arty is more enjoyable, i still do lots of damage and seeing people damage enemies that i stunned feels pretty rewarding to me. I do understand that its awful if you liked the old arty.

3. Git Gud, arty can be fun on all maps, even Pimmelsdorf ! Sure, its harder, but if you know where to stand, then you can at least deal some damage. They wont even see it coming ! Still, you arent wrong, some maps are kinda awkward for arty. The same goes for some other tanks, too. Some tanks are just much less fun on some maps, its not an arty exclusive problem.

I usually play Arty while watching Netflix, makes the reload time much more enjoyable.

If we all liked the same music, it would be a boring world.

It would be safer though - I once got thrown out of a pub for daring to grace it with Aqualung. Some of my fellow mancunians are rather ........set in their ways music-wise.

A love for Jethro Tull indicates a quality taste in music.

Other than for completing missions artillery for me is when I want to play something completely different.

Its not a very effective class to play and I would have preferred an alternative support class.

I would play almost no SPG games were it not for personal missions as I say I play mostly for a change of pace or a specific mission requirement

I would also add it is a real hoot to 1 shot a light on Mines etc in my Bison, it is not funny really, but I LOL!

And it has happened to me also and I am a survivor of that trauma! It's just a game. :girl:

How I enjoy playing artillery:

with a nice cold beer or a glass of whisky in my left,

aiming tool aka mouse in the right,

some nice music on the stereo( Translatlantic for example )

It's relaxing and gives you time to study the maps, observe the battle dynamic and positioning errors from above - for the times when you drive the tank on the dirt over there.

Also, tuning some different music, makes playing WoT very pleasant - let it rain, let it rain :arta:

I have been playing artillery for about a year now to complete the campaign with honours which is done on the first front STUGIV T 28 HTC T55A OBJ 260. I play OBJ261 for the duration of doing the missions is why I write on this post to you guys this artillery has a advantage on fire rate accuracy it disadvantage is the arc of firing over tight cliffs and rock but the splash does punish if close to open behind them were team can kill the player who is hidden. I did the last mission with honours just last week SPG war gods which is 3200 assist 4000 damage and place as top xp earner on both team and win this mission was difficult in 15v15 but I did it in 30v30 this game mode should be turned on if you struggle with the mission with honours.
