the game and the servers themselfs are not lagging

it is something inbetween your pc and wargamings servers and outside of wargamings control

the servers are lagging; if everything else works fine and wot doesn't... Obviously, doesn't mean it's the server per se. But it's something along the route, as there are enough ppl complaining.

without analyzing anything(as I can't do crap anyway), looks like a ton of packet loss. And it's not on my side; just tested that again and it's flying.

anyway, today was unplayable. Changed servers, logged off and relogged later... nothing. Had to give up. Plus it's random(like in their previous server f up some months ago): 3 mins works fine, 2 doesn't, than works fine again. Enough so you don't even know for sure you can't play...

a single node going down can effect a entire region and create a bottleneck to a backup node for that region due to increased traffic

if the ISP DNS server is having issues a entire country can feel its effects

the change it 100% wargaming servers all the time is nearly impossible as they would rather take down a server for a few hours to fix it

Then what do you want WG to do? It's how ISP's on the way direct your traffic, and one of them has a bad apple. Not much WG can do about those deals. I mean the inevitable WG crash will come. As it does each Xmas. But not today.

We had issue one year when half of Europe streamed Tour De France and did bottleneck every ISP. Nothing WG could do then either if it's not on their servers. And it lagged for a full week for most of the players.

I've had lag whole day today from northern europe. So did my platoon mate from northern africa.

It's pretty close to unplayable

my problem is that now(when there are only 100k ppl. online), it works perfectly fine. Earlier, when there were 200k, was full of hiccups.

yes, it might not be their server per se, but can be their datacenter/host/no clue about their setup. Because I've tested everything in Europe(heck, even US, not that it'd matter) and everything works fine on my end.

there are hiccups, not lag/high latency. 2s doesn't work, teleport, works, again 2s, so on.

If you want to bring some proof that it is not at your end then.

Download pingplotter

if you use EU1 point it at login.p1.worldoftanks.eu

if you use EU2 point it at login.p2.worldoftanks.eu

Let it run while you play a few battles.

Save the trace as an image and post it up here.

yeah . . .

i srsly doubt WG's "datacenter" or where ever the servers physicly are, are the cause of your lag/packet loss as those type of centers have connections a single person only can dream off with back up for the back ups for the back ups . . .

30 years working in and around such data centres says that to assume makes a donkey of "u" and "me".

So.  Back to my previous comment.

yes man, I know; that's why I've pointed out that now, with 50% of the load, it works perfectly fine.

I still think it's a server problem, not a connection problem. And I understand very well that 99%(apparently) of the ppl. don't have problems. Which I'm fully aware it makes no sense.

@homer - ok, will do if it happens again. Didn't bother too much as... not like I can do much.

p.s. - anyway, for me happened only today. Did see the thread with ppl. complaining, but I had problems only today. In rest worked fine.

I still think it's a server problem,

Same here, someone reported 175k players online but there is always the chance there is something which can easily be fixed.

As for giving the server end more capacity, it may not be as simple as switching in some more processors and by the time it can be done we might be past the Xmas peak.

Im pretty sure i saw the servers peaking at almost 190k yesterday.

Poor WG didn't expect people to actually want to play their game

Do I kill every theory now, when I say, that I did not encounter any lag at all during the weekend?

Of course not. All you have done is prove that even lag is rigged.

I have to say, that I saw no sign of lag over the weekend either.

There was no heavy lag but some small server hiccups could be felt at peak hours, atleast on EU2.

Ebb and flow, server load increases, node issues between A and B........could be any of these issues. Best advice is as Homer suggests, do the ping trace and post it up. If enough people who are having issues do it, any commonalities may show up

Plus we’ll have data to send to WG or whomever else to get the problem addressed

There is a rumor that the lag might have something to do with the JgdPz E100 skin ...
