You know the Valentine in game has the Russian 45mm right?

I didn't even know the Russians equipped the Val with a 45mm I thought they put a 76mm gun on it.

Firstly, nice post theta0123, excellent work mate!

Now to business...

As a light the Valentine will get annihilated by the matchmaker.

The lend lease Valentine is 'protected' in MM 7.1 by ending up only in tier 3 and tier 4 battles.

However in MM 7.1 a tier 4 light can get anywhere from tier 3 to tier 9 battles, and a tier 5 light anywhere from tier 7 to tier 10 battles, with the majority of them at the tier 10 end.

If the Valentine remains classed as a light in WoT or doesn't get 'protected' in the MM, it's doomed, regardless of what gun it has.

Don't assume it will get 'protected' status, the premium German captured PzKpfw B2 740(f) was, but the standard French version the B1 wasn't.

Since it isn't actually a scout tank I'm assuming it would get some sort of improved MM.

We are merely at the whim of the gods (devs) as to that one. The AMX 40, the tier 4 French light and also no scout ends up between tier 3 and tier 7 battles, so that would be my guide.

As Has already been said.
The Russians called it a light tank. The British called in an infantry tank.

Because Soviets used weight as characteristic while Brits used role.
So Brits had light infantry tank (Val), Medium (Matilda) and heavy (Churchill).
Note that despite all of that both Soviets and British used Val in same role - infantry support.

Most likely it will get the tier 4 medium MM, yeah.

But at least Valentine gets a gun with 100mm+ penetration. And it's faster than AMX-40. With the 6 pounder it's basically 75mm Hetzer with a turret.

WG has no intention of buffing the valentine sadly.

I still don't know why they didn't give it the 2 pounder in the first place.

Version in game is modified by russians, valentine in UK tree definitely gets the 2pdr.

I know the Russians also used the 2 pounder and 76mm it's a shame we get stuck with the 45mm.

They didn't have ammo for 2 pounder so they armed it with the best gun possible at that time.

Our bad for sending tanks without ammo then. :)

I think that UK sent ammo (they just run out of them quite fast) but factory to produce more would be better. =)

Both Val with 45mm and Matilda with 76mm are prototypes only, they were not used in action.
Lack of HE with British guns was solved by adopting 37mm HE from m.1939 AA-gun for 2pdr (mid-1942) and 57mm HE from ZiS-2 to 6pdr (mid 1943).

Back to OP

I cant see them giving the Valentine a Littlejohn adaptor, as that's just another way of firing sub calibre ammo - ie Gold Ammo

Also you dont really need that many guns or engines, most trees have only three guns and two or three engines, so probably just 2Pdr, 6Pdr, 75mm

We must remember that Both Valentine and Matilda were much better armored and had better weapons in the start of WWII than Pz II,PzIII and Pz 35/38.
What lead to defeat was the use tactics and not the "material".

"65/50/50 doesnt sound to much for a T4 tank, considering the fact that the speed of the valentine is very slow"

Dude, are you KIDDING ME? This is better than Hetzer's armor!

That armor, combined with a 6 pouner on TIER 4, the 6 pounder i so much love to use on my tier 5 churchill, this will be the most OP tier 4 vehicle ever!
