Compared to the previous year, has the sentiment changed?

It depends on the individuals intention when they buy a loot box.

If they're buying it for the premium tanks it is gambling

If they're buying them to stock up on gold etc because it's the best way right now, then it isn't gambling

What is gambling??? Gambling is risk where u might get money or lose money. But loot boxes make sure that u will always get more stuff then u paid for boxes(at least for me).
I bought 39 boxes and I got 15kgold,1xtier8,2xtier6,1xtier5,1xtier3,1xtier2,15mil credits.I got much more then I payed for.

But I am still unhappy person coz DAMN I WANTED AT LEAST 2-3 TIER8s...

The "you can't cash out" loophole has always been ridiculous. Gambling for virtual tanks effects the people the same way as regular gambling. It is fuelled by a dopamine controlled addiction loop and this is a game also played by children.

Yes, because it still is.

Exactly.

Game companies employ psychiatrists in order to make the most addictive game mechanics

in order to keep you playing and paying.

The same human psychiatry triggers as with gambling.

People and their families get ruined by these practices.

Maybe not you, maybe not your neighbor, but some people have a real weakness to gambling and all they need is a trigger

to fall into a state of not being able to stop themselves.

Most of these "whales"  are not rich people with money to burn,

but gambling addicts that run up huge debts and cant even afford to buy food or rent.

And all this because game companies have to (want due to pure greed) extract every penny no matter the human cost.

Lootboxes = gambling.

And not just loot boxes, the new trend of battle passes have the same triggers,

or the social pressure kids feel to buy expensive cosmetic skins in fortnite or they get bullied by their peers for using a default skin.

If I was a millionaire I would buy 75 loot boxes daily not for gold or tanks but for fun because it's so much fun when u open a box with animation and getting your face smashed with random stuff its the real hype OMG OMG what I get!

For me it is gambling as long as I don't know exactly what I am buying and I hope it will worth it. Last year I "won" a tier VIII from 25 boxes and I thought I was lucky so this year I didn't want to push my luck. And tier 8 is pants.

I don't see anyone going to end up homeless and living on the side of the road over WoT.

A few weeks ago I took a big punt on UK small/mid caps and US tech.

That made me a few hundred thousand over the past few days, but if I had been wrong I could have lost a lot more than that

Betting on loot boxes doesn't strike me as really gambling

Yeah like all the kids are going to give a crap about reading your EULA.

It's also not the main point as it is still fishing for people susceptible for gambling addiction.

Well I bought 100 boxes and I would have been better off buying the gold and days at full price separately.

That's their parents responsibility...just in case you have trouble understanding.

Ok, tiny letters somewhere in the EULA absolve the company of all responsibility and gambling addiction under both minors and adults is totally not a problem any more.

Problem solved.

I gifted some boxes to my friend and all inside was crap.

Worst way to get anything.

250 gold/box (one had 500), credits, TIER 2 car, few prem. days.

You get better deal if you buy gold mobile.

I bought 3 box to myself and got a 3D skin. I have heard it is worth 6000 gold, but I can't sell it.

I'm not actually sure it is. Certainly not in all cases. Fraud being one of them. Just sayin'

Slot machines give you bright lights and fancy tunes, so it is not gambling then because you always get something.

all the negative comments are tried and tested realities of the loot box method. So much so some countries ban them outright. So WG need to think of a better way or ???

Parents should take responsibility, as I do. On the internet without adult supervision, WoT is the least of your problems.
