Kind of a silly question, but the X button doesnt make the tank use its suspensions?

Nothing happens, no matter what button i press.

Figured it would be the same as any of the STrv TD's but not working at all.

Hydraulics and hull down mechanics are standard mapped under X button, but its not working?

I think it's supposed to work automatically for Swedish mediums? I haven't played them.

Suspension works automatically, you don't need to press anything. The thing is, you need to go below 15 km/h in order for suspension to activate.

It works automatically and it does work with a slight delay when you come to a full stop.

This means you can Hill hump quite nicely and or have that bit more depression you need. You just don't notice it when you're driving in sniper mode.

If controls were manual people would complain that it's clunky, the same way they do for Swedish TDs. You'd have to agree that a medium tank needs to be more "smooth" simply because it's a medium and it won't be sniping 24/7.

He should notice it in form of a small icon on the UI in sniper mode.

It shows up when the tank slows down, it informs you when you can use the suspension. However, the suspension, when able to activate, activates automatically with no user input.

This basically.

Its a medium so you're usually closer to the enemy due to worse dispersion and penetration, which means you need to be able to relocate much more often.

Same goes for the STB-1, btw, which has the same suspension mechanic.

On that note, I've just quickly grinded the tier 8 and I'm on the tier 9 (still stock for now). Is it me or is that suspension incredibly slow and makes the tank hard to use? I'm quite underwhelmed by the overall performance.

I have the tier 9 and like it. And just like you i grinded the tier 8 quick and did not take the time to learn the suspensions. Now in the tier 9 i am learning. Yes it is auto but you can still play with it. Just use your gun as your x button. If you have top turret you have a very low profile. Also a great hill fighter, up and down. If you are going uphill and you reach the ridge you can manouver it in such a way only the gun sticks over. Small target enemy will miss a lot and if they hit it mostly bounches. Just carry a lot of gold because you see a lot of t 10. Ow and you are a second line med. Dont brawll with it because the turret can do crazy bouche stuff, the rest is paper.

After a few more games, my DPG went up to 1.8k so it's better than the first battles, but it's nothing to shout home about. The suspension is just too slow to react and when it does your gun blooms like crazy; it makes snapshots quite challenging. Basically, I often run out of space for my mouse on my desk as I keep trying to point the bloody gun down. I almost would prefer to use the X key to switch over the suspension.

Close combat is out of the question when people run around in 430's.

Right now, my UDES is in competition with my newly acquired VK30.02D when it comes to dpg :amazed:

I "only" got 1530 average dmg per game in mine. but a WR of 61% over 376 games. I really enjoy this tank, I find it one of the most fun tanks at tier 8 atm out of all those I got in the garage.

Suspension/gun depression needs to be "learned" but it works just fine.
