I'm on my way to the Jageroo.

Roughly, I can start from Tier IV to Tier X on its original line and go from to Tiger P onwards to the Ferdinand, shifting lines, through 150K XP on either lane.

I'm only missing the tracks and turret of the Tiger P and, should be no secret it's not the best line. But it's the shortest path to the Assault Gun.

On the other hand, the TD line has virtually all guns unlocked at least until Tier VII, with blueprint discounts on every single tank.

Which should I follow (See picture attached, please)

Its not just the Tiger P that is annoying to play. (especially since the tank before it was so nice the vk.30.01p)

Ferdinand is painful to play these days from what I heard.

The Ferdiand and the Tiger P have something in common that they are slow and their armor is full of weakpoints.

People choose to play the Jaghtpanther 2 at tier 8.

And from there make it to tier 9.

Or... go the annoying route. Its up to you.

I went from Tiger P and it was one of my favorite tanks. I played it so much that I unlocked 3 tanks from it - Tiger I, Ferdinand and VK 100 P.

Not sure why everyone hate it, the tank is good. DPM was not a problem for me. Armor worked just fine, I bounced even tier 9's. I guess I just got matched against full tomatoes but that is just how it is.

Edit: and yeah, Ferdinand was kind of a bad experience because it feelt like a slower Tiger P uptiered and without a turret. That until I unlocked the top gun, but it was horrible with the stock one. Jagdtiger was pretty nice with the top gun but not a keeper. Jpz E100 is totaly worth it, my new favorite Tier X now. It is so good to shot for 1000 + alpha.

Tiger P looks terrible to play imo. Ferdi however, the armor is full of weak spots and the strong parts aren't so strong in 2019, but it looks nice to play to me. I played some battles on my brother in law's account, and quite liked it. Gun is good and it has a good amount of hit points, so you don't have to cowardly camp in the back.

In the past I would have chosen the JP2 for sure, but that was prior to the Ferdi buffs and the (balanced) Skorpion G era.

I also played some battles with the t7 JP and it positively surprised me, mostly the gun. Albeit it still is meant to played from some range.

Well, the Ferdinand in the tech tree cost a lot more if you would go from the Tiger (P). Currently, your tech tree view from my knowledge is viewing the price of the Ferdinand if you would go from the JPanther line from your picture.
Heres a picture from my tech tree to show you what it actually costs if you would go to the Ferdinand from Tiger (P).

I love TIGERs so TIGER P for luls. Too bad its a heavy and Ferdi is a TD so they suffer from less xp if you ever would change/reassign crews

JP and JP2 are IMO much stronger in their tiers than the Tiger P and Ferdinand, probably more fun as well because they are more mobile.

The tier 6 is also a hidden gem, ok the pen is lacking but the DPM for a tier 6 is brutal for 220 alpha, maxed out it's over 3k, plus it's decently mobile and it has the highest camo of any tier 6 TD, it almost has as much base camo as an E25 (though of course not the firing camo bonus)

I played through most of these tanks in the line and kept the Jagdpanzer IV, the Jadgpanther, the Ferdinand and the Jagdtiger and play all of them regularly. Really good assault TD's.. just follow the heavies.  Tiger P is not that bad as people say  and in the process you unlock the way to the VK45.02B which IMHO is one of the best tanks for any blocking mission WG will throw at you.  I couldn't get the JP II to work for me though. But like Skill4ltu would say, maybe that is only me..

Tiger P is one of those you either love or hate. There is no "meh" in there. TD line has some good gems in there, and they are not terrible stock grinds either. JPII might be tho in some +2's. But still amazing once elited.

But, if you only lack the turret and tracks on the Tiger P along with your current XP on it. And considering your research discount, as it costs about 203K XP to get from the tier 4 to the JP II with all modules. But you get about a 29K discount. There is not much difference in XP between your two choices. If you get all modules, that's about 175K XP from the Stug to the JP II. Tiger P inc tracks and turret - your current XP that's about 170K XP needed. So take the extra 5 and go for the TD lane and suffer less. Or skip a few modules on the way and save more than 5K to make it even shorter.

The Jg panther II is probably the 2nd best t8 tank in the German tree, the VK 100.01 P being the best.

Jagpanther is a sturdy td, as Tajj mentioned the jpPZ IV is very useable and I used it recently to hunt down the recent horde of Super Hellcats.. it did a great job.

Personally i went for it using tiger P, it was really hard, but it worth it because i hate playing T7 TDs, but IMO, go from TDs, because you'll have the guns ready for next tier.

I'd say TD line, Jadg. tanks were all very comfortable to play for me anyway.

Thank you, everyone. I decided to go the TD lane as I have plenty of well trained crew members and there's already the Mäuschen unlocked.

I went the Tiger P and Ferdi line - absolutely do not recommend it. It was horrible. Stick with the TDs

Go for the TDs. The JagTiger is awesome, and the JgPz E 100 is a boss with that huge gun.

Ferdy was good in 2014, not so much now.
Tier 7 Jpanther is a great TD for me.

The more game friendly route (for me) was the STUG IIIG > JadgPanther II route, as I found the Ferdinand unbelievably slow and really needed the Top gun. just finishing off the JadgTiger so maybe by Christmas for the "Roo"
