For example obj705. Its aim time is kinda long. Mounted vstab and rammers.

Vstabs is usually better unless your aim time is extreme. Only real use case for GLD is arty.

For 705 don't use the 130mm gun, the alpha might be tempting but the 122mm is just so much better in every other way.

already mounted vstabs. also both guns have same aimtime.

122 is still better.  You only lose 2mm on your standard pen but you gain 12mm on your HEAT which isn't affected over distance and on top of that you get approx. 20% better rate of fire. All for 50hp trade in alpha.

its not only 2 mm loss. apcr is much worse than ap. for example you cant pen e75s lower plate with 122mm without gold. also loses more penetration with distance. 130mm gun can do it with standard round. both viable imo. just a preference. but that wasnt question of thread.

For example when your crew has BiA and the aim time is extremely long. Or even if it's not too long at first glance but if you've got an autoloader clip and want to be able to burst faster while still aiming reasonably well.

Might be a very small minority of tanks that it fits perfectly, but I guess you'll find out which ones they are by feeling them out in battle. Aim time stats are still fine as first indicators though.

I'm running Optics - Vstabs - GLD in my T49 because the it aims like arty and the GLD helps a lot with it.

I even know a few friends that also use Vstabs  combined with GLD instead of anything else on tanks with really bad gun handling like WZ-120,SU152 etc.

Probably never. I use GLD on some TDs plus on vehicles that dont mount rammers like Lorr 40t and the likes.

never use GLD . Its only worth it on arty or some TDs. Either use VStabs Rammer Optics or VStabs Rammer Vents

On any tank with a faster reload than aim time GLD might be beneficial. Try it out and see what you find to be of your own liking.

I run gld over vents on cromwell & matilda, other tanks apart from arty that I also use a gld on: AMX 50100 (vent gld vert), ARL44 (vent gld rammer) Tiger 1

Agree with Mr_Burrows above.

It's useful on arty and TDs with a long aim time but generally speaking vents are a better choice on any other tank because GLD only works when the gun is stationary, which includes turning the turret.

There are some low tier tanks that can't mount a Rammer.  I sometimes put GLD on those if I can't think of anything more useful.

This.

Also, I tend to use it on tanks with long aimtimes that don't get more useful equipment options.

E.g. No vstab so I can go with rammer, optics and gld.

Never. Unless you can't mount vents. And even then it's better to go with rammer, optics and vstab/toolbox or whatever. GLD is used, at least in my garage, on KV-2, T54E1 since trash aim time for autoloading medium and on artas.

I am curious how hard is to understand that 5% crew increase means a lot and 10% of aim time means much less...
When i see people using GLD on Grille 15.
Ffs, why would you want to waste equipment slot for 0.14 s of aim time???
It's already having insane ai time.
Only if aim time is over 3.5-4s it makes sense...
