I have not many tier 10 games and until now I only had 3 tier 10s.

However I just researched and bought Maus, 277, 140, ebr 105, t57, wz5a, strv and SConq. And I stumbled on the following problem with the meds and heavies.

Even with Maus, but with the 277, 5a and SConq, you are going to meet heavy armored tanks such as E3 and bobject. Or you will get a hull down SConq. Obviously with the faster tanks you have the ability to flank or relocate. But what do you do with the rest?

Or to make the question broader. What do you with slower tanks when you meet a well positioned armored tank?

Edit: (putting this edit on top as it is important!); Focus on the armored tank's support if he is well dug in. A dug in armored tank player can be hard to damage but his support often isn't. Quite some who take too much risks in getting some extra damage in. This also works in reverse; if you drive an armored tank, try to get the focus on their support from a good position/angle so your support doesn't get hurt when they try to gun for the other team's support.

Always isolate the slow armored tank if you can, they are much weaker without support. You can do this by either killing the support or not making it worth their time (because they get damaged too easy causing them to move away)

Edit3: as mentioned by Lethalwalou below: tracking them when they move out also can help. It often annoys them to the point they come out less, allowing you to have more shooting time for their support. The annoyance level varies. Some consider tracks part of the armor (like me) and don't repair it, accepting the (usually) slightly larger risk of getting damaged during the repair period. others willr epair asap & don't come out as often next time giving you more time to deal with their support first.

Lots of answers honestly as it really depends on the situation. If you are outnumbered, copy him, dig in & pre-aim for when he comes out of his spot. Pick a spot that forces them to expose themselves to come & get you.

You can also relocate & attempt to breach the line somewhere else with your armored tank, this does require you picked a flank where you have different options. This is one of the reasons Abbey 1-2 line is superior to river-side -> more options for your HT.

If they are outnumbered (and you can verify there's no TD's backing them up), you can push. Do check if your other teammates follow! Else, no go.

For dug in armored tanks: use HE; use it on the gun if you can -> less damage, but broken gun can help alot. It is why you should always get some HE shells with you, annoys alot of armored tank users & often forces them into hiding, allowing you & your team to take better positions.

Also call in artillery if you can. It is one of the reasons they're in the game. Especially for hulldown tanks as some can be very hard to dislodge otherwise.

Edit2: For folks saying 'press 2' it won't always save you

Do what most of us do. Complain about dull meta on forum. Or drive FV and slap them with HESH.

Simple:

1. Predict/See where those tanks will be

2. Don't go there

3. Find a way around

4. Shoot them in a back like a real man f2p player

5. Profit

6. Laugh at WG

For this excellent comment the only thing I want to add is; destroy their tracks. If you see a tank sidescraping and you know that you can't pen it, just shoot the tracks off. If you do it with HE you do some damage too. The main point though is that players tend to panic/dislike being tracked and (partly) in the open. Most experienced players don't repair their tracks but majority will at least consider it and a great number actually does repair them to get back to cover. If they repair, that means that they will be in disadvantage and discouraged to do the same again. You can use this as a trigger for a push for example once you get unspotted. I personally do this with bottom tier tanks on anybody I can. It's an effective way to annoy top tier tanks, coupled with fake flanking (or actually flanking). As bottom tier for example my intention is to be noticed and focused on by the top tier armoured tanks (or any other really)

Usually I swear until paint drops from the ceiling, stand up and walk away from the computer, only coming back when it is over and I'm comfortably dead.

Thank you for the detailed response. So what should the reds do in case like yours? Lets say I am one of the reds driving a Maus or Super Conc. How should I deal with you?
