Map Exclusion needs to be fixed

I put ghost town in blacklist and i still get it because i have encounter turned on ? WTF is this logic ? a map is the same in any gamemode if you block it you should not get it. Why is this not fixed yet after this much time ?

Encounter and standard mode use different maps as far as the game is concerned.

 

Perhaps they could allow you to block them as two separate maps but I guess they had reasons not to, possibly they thought it would confuse people.

It isn't fixed because it isn't broken, Standard Battles are different from encounter  or assault. You get to block two maps in Standard Battles. Easy way to block it is to exclude the other two modes. Might not be the answer your after but it's one that fixes your problem.

Unfortunately so. It's the reason why I try to only pick and ban maps that don't have Encounter variants (don't play Assault atleast, so don't have to worry about those maps).

Because there is nothing to fix, it is intended to work that way.

Bug or feature, whatever you'd like to call it but I agree with OP on this.

You exclude a map cause you don't like the map, not the gamemode, but the map.

Same here, plus the exclusion not working at low tiers is annoying.

I banned Himmelsdorf, still had to play it for the other battle mode, and had it 4 times in 6 battles I played low tiers ...

Maps, depending on gamemode play very differently. So why would you necessarily want to exclude, say, murovanka on encounter if you excluded it on standard? Because you hate the forest? You don't exclude the map because of the map, rather you do it because of how a given map is being played.

In the patch notes when this was first added. They did state it's far from final. As with getting other modes pr map to be added. But it's not high on their list for that team.... for once.

himmelsdorf is himmelsdorf it does not matter if it is standard or encounter or even assault (which it does not have), when i ban a map it is not because i don't like where bases are located on that map but because map design is super bad on that one (ghost town and this new proveli or whatever it is called are the best examples) and i think a lot of people also do ban maps for the same reason and that they just don't ban a map cause they don't like standard and like encounter.

cause maps like ghost town is crapregardless of encounter or assault or standard which is actually funny a map this craphas all 3 modes i don't want to play that map in ANY game mode but i enjoy siegfriedlinie assault and encounter so why should i be forced to turn the other game modes off cause there is 2 trash maps and they are in my rotation cause of encounter and assault ?

On low tiers there are like 3 maps in TOTAL to play and 1 of them is Himmelsdorf so not very smart to ban that one.

Agree Ghost Town is not a very good map, but its way better than Paris, Minsk and Provins.

Now you can only remove 2 of them.

Have you thought about the downsides of that regarding queue times and map rotation? Doubt it. Most likely we'll get a third one to block as they said they were looking into it. There would be no point to give more than that.

One map is enough imo, but in all the mods.

 

If you let people ban 3 or 4 maps they will do it accordingly to the tank they play : arty session without towns, super heavy session without open maps, ...

I actually enjoy playing Ghost town, Paris and Minsk, Ghost town, if it's in the right gamemode, can actually be one of my favourite maps and Minsk is just plainly one of my favourites. :hiding:
