Title....i got a friend of mine who wanna paint his tank all black, but he is worried about not getting the 3% cammo.

If he paints the tank will he get 3% cammo rating or painting is just useless?

Thanks in advance

No, paint on its own does not offer any camo bonus.

There is a workaround of applying a non-historical camo to the hull and switching off the non-historical elements option, thereby only showing whatever paint you've applied underneath but if you use non-historical paints, you won't see them anyway.

You still see non- historical elements on your tank even when you have turn them off.

Paint is just to make a camo look better, which is a shame though as WG Rarely uses them on the historical styles and all (hence why I mod them on). It's a shame, there's totally some paints I'd love to use solo, but the lack of a bonus just makes it pointless unless you're playing a tank that's got bad enough camo for it not to matter (i.e Maus/Japanese heavy). Now, imagine if they finally just added a transparent camo, just saying.
