Hello, I would like to ask a question of the community if I can please.

I was in a battle doing okay in my WT auf Pz. IV, when a T.54 appears out of no where and only about 15 / 20 foot away from me.

How could he get so close without me seeing him.

I have Binocular's set - Brothers in arm on all crew - Recon - Situational awareness. My spotting is at 835. All crew have 4 + skills

Even if he had Concealment maxed out, how come I couldn't see him before he got so close.

Would like to know how this can happen just for learning lesson.

Thanks in advance.

Possibilities:

1. Bushes, were there any near you/inbetween you and him?

2. Server lag.

3. HAX (no)

Do not use the stat category ratings to determine your tank's abilities. Expand them and look at the detailed parameters, in this case View Range and your Camo Rating while stationary/on the move.

As mentioned above, it would be wise to check the replay to check if you are able to see the T-54 sooner. This would indicate there was server lag involved during actual gameplay.

It might not appear correct on the replay either...but just to be sure, give it a watch.

15/20=0.75

0.75 feet is 22cm.

Somebody is lying.

Simple.  It can't happen.

At 50m you become automatically spotted.

But let me guess something, you don't have replays enabled.  Am I right?

Maybe everything made sense on the server but you had 999+ ping so it looked weird in the client.

In other words, a connection/lag problem, not a spotting mechanics problem.

Nevertheless the spotting mechanic explanation videos posted above might help you a lot. (Try to really pay attention to the clips, it's stuff that's very important in-game. But beware it might screw up your being-completely-clueless excuse.)

He was using terrain and soft cover to get to you without being spotted and then got auto-spotted at 50m distance.....

That would be my guess.

Thanks for your reply.

I have watched the video's  posted above, and they do make sense. As far as my Total clueless excuse. I got killed and that was my fault for not spotting him/her coming. I just wanted to ask the question from players that would know so that I could learn, and I did get the answer I was looking for from other players that didn't give a sarcastic reply. BUT AGAIN THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY.

Regarding the YT above:

Watch them now and in a few weeks again.

You find new and interessting things.

Practice the tree cutting and double bushing.

You may not be successful at first, but do not give up.

The gain is so much worth the pain of learning.

Regarding the "strange" replies.

Usally such replies occure when the OP shows resistance to learning.

In this topic they have not been as patient as they usally wait for a reply of the OP.

Just ignore it.

:)

Agreed, they were an unnecessary response to someone who merely asked a polite question. Let's reserve the digs for those that earn them people.

sometimes, if you stand in a higher location, and there is tree between you and him, yes, he can just approach you behind the shadow of tree, without being spotted.

This is what makes any player successful.

The attacker knows the possible appoaches, whereas the defender is prepared.

At worst only one knows the game mechanics.
