I find it amazing that the savyets managed to find any that were still in any condition to be operated, considering the large number of mechanical failures those things had.
"We sent 250 panthers to kursk, 88 were lost before arrival."

"Battle for kursk has commenced, we started with 184 operational panthers, two days later, we were down to 40."

A colleague of mine went to Russia in the late 80's - the had lots of then as "monuments" actually fueled ready to go - an old tank may be old but its still a tank
