I just upgraded to linux from win7 because Im not admitting myself to win10 in a million years.

So the HD client itself runs on linux through wine completely fine. However the game center crashes. Which means the moment there is an update I cant play the game. When I went to the wot download site to maybe get the old launcher that I remember working, linux isnt even there next to the download options anymore. So how am I supposed to update the game that runs fine on linux if the launcher (game center) does not? What is this mess?

I have been running WoT for years on Linux. It is only recently (with the new launcher) that problems are occurring.

That said, at some point I also had the launcher crashing. Simply reinstalling it fixed the issue so far for me (you don't need to re-install the game; the launcher will recognize the existing install). Still, the game will only launch in about 10% of the cases from the launcher (wgc_api.exe).

I run WorldofTanks.exe directly instead for a better probability of launch (80%).

I hope this gets better as the game evolves. Otherwise I will be done with it. But I'm afraid the current instability comes from the WG desire to embrace new Microsoft technology that is not fully implemented on Wine.

FYI I'm running wine-5.0-rc3 (staging) with DXVK.

Because using windows 10 after using windows 7 for 10 years feels like going from windows xp to vista. A HORRIBLE mess of an operating system, with clusterfrick rabbit hole ui, no backwards compatibility for old hardware, driver issues, forced updates. Windows 7 had non of that crap. I rather deal with game compatibility issues on linux but have an overall clean and fast ui experience than admitting myself to that spyware/bloatware thats disguised as an OS...

Hi! Did you try to run the Game Center with "Win7" setting in Wine? This has worked for me so far...

Btw, WoT runs smoothly on Linux with Lutris: http://forum.worldof...o-wot-on-linux/
