I have noticed quite a few odd little icons by player names in battle

E.g. Six-pointed gold star, little boxes with numbers in. etc

Anyone know what these mean?

Click your name up in the top left corner of the garage, and then click the slot to the left of your name again and it will show you all the badges which you can currently obtain and what they are for. Or, you can check all the badges here: https://dezgamez.wot...nkopedia/badges

Aha, thank you, would never have found that

An empty life

Having played Frontline 2 or 3 times, I would sooner watch paint dry than ever do that again

They do indeed seem to be WoTs version of self-flagellation marks :)

After the anonymizer came. Most good players have started to use the Stug one to "hide" behind vs ranked etc. And since the original Stug users moved on to the festive lvl 10 one now. It's the new marker if they have an... odd name. As most I did see today with the Stug maker were 56% or higher with a fake name :P

The name of Bulldog shall never be masked!

The shades of night were falling fast,
As through an Alpine village passed
A tank, who bore, 'mid snow and ice,
A banner with the strange device,
      Bulldog Drummond!

His brow was sad; his eye beneath,
Flashed like a falchion from its sheath,
And like a silver clarion rung
The accents of that unknown tongue,
      Bulldog Drummond!

In happy homes he saw the light
Of household fires gleam warm and bright;
Above, the spectral glaciers shone,
And from his lips escaped a groan,
      Bulldog Drummond!

"Try not the Pass!" the old man said;
"Dark lowers the tempest overhead,
The roaring torrent is deep and wide!"
And loud that clarion voice replied,
      Bulldog Drummond!

"Oh stay," the maiden said, "and rest
Thy weary head upon this breast! "
A tear stood in his bright blue eye,
But still he answered, with a sigh,
      Bulldog Drummond!

"Beware the pine-tree's withered branch!
Beware the awful avalanche!"
This was the peasant's last Good-night,
A voice replied, far up the height,
      Bulldog Drummond!

At break of day, as heavenward
The pious monks of Saint Bernard
Uttered the oft-repeated prayer,
A voice cried through the startled air,
      Bulldog Drummond!

A traveller, by the faithful hound,
Half-buried in the snow was found,
Still grasping in his hand of ice
That banner with the strange device,
      Bulldog Drummond!

There in the twilight cold and gray,
Lifeless, but beautiful, he lay,
And from the sky, serene and far,
A voice fell like a falling star,
      Bulldog Drummond!

Why using any badge at all... I leave my badge slot empty.

Some like to show their accomplishments, however big they are. I don't but I can understand why some want to. That's why we can see Stug or T28 HTC mission badges used for example. Those players are proud of it.

Although in real life I am Lord Bulldog of Drummond, Duke of Middlesex, and Warden of the Cinq Ports, I have always preferred my friends to call me Tim.

An old English county, now sadly gone the way of Flintshire, Rutland and Huntingdonshire, but still preserved in cricket and rowing.

While we're asking about odd marks, can anyone tell me what the small red square next to a players name in battle means?

It irritates the hell out of me as I continually think it is a distant enemy. Made be mod based as I do use Aslain's.

Rutland! Where do you people find these names?
