Hi guys.

As you can see I roll with a rammer(duh) optics and binos for my Skorp. Not sure if this is the best strat for this TD I just doesn't feel like I'm getting the best out of it(apart from being a bad player obviously) and that there's a better layout and playstyle. I try using it as a TD/Medium hybrid sort of thingy so I use optics for better on the move visibility and it's camo rating is poor so unlike the SU 130 PM I didn't feel there was any gain to be had in dropping optics for a camo net. Would a GLD be a better option? It seems to miss a lot of shots to maybe I just use food like I do for the SU? Maybe it's fire prone though so not worth risking food?

TD Medium hybrid?

The turret travers is to slow for this.

The reload is to long for this.

You will be the first to collect dmg.

Driver skills seem suboptimal What about BIA, Camo, OR, CB?

Replace Bino with GLD. Always wait for complete aim circle. You will still be missing "alot" of shots.

Spoiler

How much viewrange do you get whit optics and rations? If its arround 440 I would go for the gun laying drive (instead of binos). Use the fire directive in your right slot.

Umm... this means without binos your Skorp only has 427 view range. How is that supposed to work? I have Bia, Situ and recon all 100%, just optics it reads 427 and you don't have food in your screenshot.

How it works with short view range?

Check my stats.

I move alot so Bino will not be active at all, hence a wasted slot.

Food?

I grind credits and crews.

(Whereas crews is releative. That RO is sucking double crew XP for more than 1.7k matches now and is still not uptodate. Thanks WG for this crab.)

I actually went with rammer, binos and optics like you do. Worked pretty well. Played it mostly like a MT but having that 500+ VR with binos on some maps was golden.

GLD is a waste on the Skorp IMO.

Also have two marked skorpion like azakow.

I use rammer binos and camo. Classic sniper td setup.

Frustrating innit?

I've tended to switch between bino's or optics but agree with the camo net, I've been lit up too many times behind a bush by an unseen active LT that it feels an absolute must.

Camo net is a complete waste of a equipment slot on 99% of all tanks in the game. I would never recommend someone to use it and especially not on a tank like the Skorp. Trying to camp bush in the Skorp is never a good idea and will seldom work unless you know what you are doing and when to fire and not to. And if you know that the camo net is a waste anyway.

Missing the tasty chocolate but it looks good to me equipment wise. And perhaps you have a bunch of camo directives stocked up back in the depot that you could put to use.

I don't doubt you are correct on this, most likely a 'git gud' scenario on my part. I've never ran both optics and bino's so its something I'll need to try out. Out of curiosity I did check what setup Skill4ltu uses and he too goes for Rammer/Optics/Bino's.

What do you recommend camo net on? Passive spotters?

I would only use camo net on tanks that can only be played by redline fapping and nothing else. Personally the only tank I ever use camo net on was the Borsig. Swedish TDs are probably a good bet for camo net as well. At least up to tier 9. The thing is when you are redline fapping there are usually bushes around so you can double bush anyway making the camonet a waste.

Rammer/optics/binos gives you the best of both worlds as far as vision goes.

I use gld instead of binos, but I played many games with binos too. I 3 marked it with binos. If you play with food I would play it with binos, gld doesn't have much visual impact .

I suppose I'm happy enough with the original ram/optics/binos choice for now anyway and there's just now way in hell I'd ever through away 486 view range for a little faster aiming of the GLD if anything the only thing I was toying around with was the idea of dropping the optics for GLD and might try that at some time into the future but it seems from comments the current setup is the solid choice. At tier8 there's no way I would be happy with 427 view range with some many utterly useless light tank players that have no idea or willingness to scout on the big open maps and it's often a roll I have to default back to doing regardless of the class of tank I am using for the good of the win and delicious spotting assist/double bushing benefits.

I guess I just have to chill a little bit and accept it is TD after all and stop myself poking and snap shotting at targets this gun clearly sucks at which as a TD is no surprise really and only fair otherwise it would be OP and taking the pizz it's just that a player can be easily misled into that sort of playstyle with the Skorps mobility and almost medium tank like attributes but a medium tank it aint! You can snap shots and pop fast little cheeky peekaboo shots with a Leo and I guess I got a bit carried away with it lol! It's a TD, fine.

...btw just out of interest, that GLD, does that start working immediately after you stop moving or does it take several seconds the same as binos and camo net?

I could be wrong but I think its as soon as you stop moving iirc but the only tank I run one on is my KV-2.

Yes. It works permanently and reduces the time until aiming cycle is complete.
