Are there any researchable tanks in the Italian line that are worth getting? I won the Progetto M35 mod. 46 in the Holiday Ops and I am thinking of maybe trying one of the regular Italian tanks out.

From tier 8 they start to shine, for me it is my favorite tank line. Tier 8 Panterra I believe needs the top gun for the auto-reloader and top turret for extra shell in the container. When researched it's similar to the Progetto 46 with minor differences in mobility and shell loading times.

Tier 4 gets HE with 70mm penetration, that can be quite fun but the crew layout doesn't match the tanks from tier 5 on so it's of limited use as a low tier trainer.

No real stinkers so the line is smooth sailing with Standard B being the superstar.

...and tier 4 with HE  :playing:

edit: I mean just look at this (rammer, vents and Brothers in Arms)

It kills itself in less than 3,5 seconds. It's just silly.

I think that the whole line is really good. Maybe only the tier 7 is just okeish compared to the others but still a good tank. I play Standard B now and I really love it. I also have Proggeto 46 and it is kinda OP. The tier 8 tech tree Pantera feelt pretty meh but that just because I was used to Prog that is way better and Panthera is just balanced.

I've started the Italian line. I free XP'd to the tier 5 P43, played 29 battles in it and found it totally unremarkable and without any merit. I usually try to first mark a tank before moving on but with the P43 I really couldn't be bothered and sold it. The tier  6 P 43 bis is a different matter. I've always found them a problem to play against as they have trollish armour and it can bounce nicely. Its USP is 240 alpha damage at tier 6 but the gun is derpy and you need a good crew with BIA, snap shot and smooth ride to get it to aim decently- even then its best to let it aim completely if you can. However its a fun tank and effective so I've kept it. I'm now playing the P43 ter which is like the P43 bis but with better mobility. Even with a vertical stabiliser the gun, which is essentially the tier 6 gun with a little better penetration, is still unreliable especially when sniping. I've only played 43 battles in it but tier for tier its not as competitive or as much fun as the P43 bis- but then all tier 7 mediums seem to be under powered. I've been told the tier 8 tech tree Pantera is a great tank as is the tier 9. Like you I've picked up a Progetto in the loot boxes but haven't played it yet. In summary, in my limited experience, I think the Italian line is worthwhile especially if you skip straight to tier 6.

Edit: just read Jakobsson's post on the tier 4. I think I may have to go back and try that.

Tier 6 is just a bad stock grind. But once you get all modules for it. The grind towards the tier X is rather painless. Tier 6 and 7 are great, as they have a turret that can bounce making them strong on a rideline. Tier 8 and 9 are amazing with their flexible burst damage. Def worth the grind if you like the Progetto style.

I kept damn near the entire Line in my Garage....     The Line is well worth it, probably the most Comfortable Grind of all the Tree's....

The Tier 4 P26/40 is alotta Fun with the High Pen HE Shells it carries....    And the Tiers 8 on Up are the Reloaders, making for some VERY Versitile Play....      The P43 Ter isn't a Bad Tier 7 either.....

Skip tier II to IX. Pantera 44 is not a bad tank but not a good tank either. Standard B is great and the Progetto 65 is, imo, next to the Obj 430U, the best med u can research.

I'm up to tier 8 at the moment, but those are my personal highlights:

Tier 3 MT: nice turret, can bounce more than expected, especially at such a low tier.

Tier4: HE meme, but personally not my cup of tea.

Tier5: same as tier 4 but now without HE meme. Suffers a lot higher tier. Not bad, but definitely not good.

Tier6: a nice HT in disguise. Top tier can really stomp and bully the enemies, but the derpy gun and tank sluggishness doesn't help as bottom tier. Can be really fun or really frustrating depending on the match up.

Tier7: I loved it. It gets all the good of the tier 6 but with more mobility, so even as bottom tier you are swift enough to run away from problems. Lovely.

Tier8: the P44 Pantera sacrifice some UFP armour for a better turret and fast dynamics. It's substantially a faster, more armoured Progetto46 a part the 0.5s longer intraclip reload. It's also well suited for ramming and the turret armour allows to bully lower tier, especially those with less than 160mm pen. Stock it already sports a 2 shell autoreloader, that gain a 3rd shell with the top turret. IIRC you don't need tracks to mount the top configuration modules.

Wonderful MT!

Tier 4,8,9 are epic. I believe tier 10 is also epic, but I still haven't tested out.

Tier 5,6,7 are good.

Many people think progetto is way better than pantera, but in my experience I have exactly same numbers in both tanks, even I played pantera first, with worse crew, few stock batles and less experience with that mechanic... I only see the creditmaking as progetto real highlight over pantera.

PD: Italian heavys are coming soon.

Whole line is great, Tier 6 and 7 are playable, Tier 8-10 is just great.

Pantera P.44 is quite good, a bit worse than Progetto 46 but its more mobile was doing quite good in it. Standard B is awesome although interclip reload is a bit of a downer for me, but still a very very enjoyable tank to play.

Progetto 65 is were I am at right now and its lovely. Tier 10 games are messed up but if played right Progetto 65 can be a beast, from time to time it can even bounce shells from turret (just dont count on it). Gun is nice, very nice...try to keep at least 2 shells in the mag for DPM unless you are sure you can kill or clip out someone safely and then run :)

I loved them all from 7 upwards. 7 plays a bit like the Swedish Leo, which many people dislike but I loved playing both. Tier 8 is great when elite, tier 9 is awesome, tier 10 is an effing monster if you’re cautious.
