Hello there.

I used to play a lot of world of tanks until nearly 5 years ago, when my daughter was born. I also posted in a lot of topics in this forum. Usually there were new topics every other minute, or so and a lot of responses.

Also in game chat there were constantly people rambling stuff in all different languages.

I don't think, that the player number was higher back then. It is monday today and there are currently playing 150000 people.

But who are these people and do they not have questions and the need to express themselves?

In most subforums on page 1 (ONE) are a lot of topics from 2017 and older. On the first page!

So out of these 150.000 people nobody seems to really want to take to the official forum, that is odd.

Also quickibabies channel got way (WAY) more views on average back then. Top videos exploded with clicks, of course, which does not happen like that anymore

In the video about updates 2020 one guy said, that there would be bots and these bots would be great and you would not recorgnize them as such. These bots are already integrated. These bots do not watch youtubevideos, or comment in the forum. These bots don't answer in the chat or write siema.

WG integrated these bots, which are now the overwhelming majority of players, to keep the whales playing and spending.

Subforums were never much frequented. And the general gameplay section is quite alive.

And it is also totally common that only a minority of players ever visits the forums. Most people just play for playings sake, without bothering about the forums.

I disagree.

An example: http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/forum/124-heavy-tanks/page__prune_day__100__sort_by__Z-A__sort_key__last_post__topicfilter__all#topmost

2018-2020 20 threads out of 1165 threads

2017 alone 24 threads

2016 alone 37 threads

2015 alone 56 threads

2014 alone 90 threads

Clearly something happened here. Your explanation, while not invalid, do not explain why the huge player amount does suddenly not communicate anymore.

No....there are no WG bots on the EU server. They are on the South American servers due to lack of numbers. We know how they will operate and how to tell them apart from real players(if they ever come, which is doubtful at present).

There are bot on the EU server of WoWP's....and they run similar ID's and set up to the bots on the South American server.

But they are not here at all in WoT.......so that part of your post is a wee bit hyperbole.

WG gave the ability to turn off chat in game....in the settings, too many angels were getting upset with what was said to them.

Ten years ago this was pretty much the only place to get WoT info or discussions.

Now they have other channels such as social media and as much as I hate to admit it, forums are a bit old hat.

And after some years people get more information so they ask less questions.

Lots of tutorials too.

It's because since then. Most moved to a different sections to discuss. As WG have redecorated the forum too and renamed and moved a few sections. It's not just the posters. That and most now go to gameplay instantly vs looking around for the right spot.

And discord is now a thing. As WOT has a channel there too. And most can discuss there and get a response even from the WG team if they are lucky instantly vs waiting for 5 days for a response.

Because people did realize we have more than one CC to watch. As others have spiked in popularity for the last 2 years. Some more than others. And I suspect most went to them vs staying with QB. Tho none of them has his subscriber count, or even 5x less. They still get close to or more than half his daily views. That was not the case 4-5 years ago of most WOT channels besides his.
