WZ 111 5A line (chinese heavies). I regret doing it because it is boring and not so good as everyone says. for me the entire line was a copy of the russian heavy line and Obj 277 line is just better. Maybe only IS-2 was slighly better than russian IS but 110 was worse IS-3, WZ 111 1-4 was a worse T-10 and WZ 111 5A is a worse Obj 277.

Other line that I don't play nor enjoy is the Maus line. The only gem was VK 100 but after that Mauschen and Maus are stupid, fat and boring.

I kinda agree with you, but there are some lines which were made to fire only gold ammo, best example is 113 and 5A, because they have a bit poor pen for standard but they have 340 HEAT which allows you to almost go through all tanks.

Next up, 277 is good indeed, but you lack the gun deep -5 against -7! Which it can be sooo effective in some situations, but you have both good pen. :)

705A line was just terrible.

IS-M was alright, and it just went downhill from there.

As for now, I regret that back in 2011 I started with German lines, and not with Soviet, or US. Atm all of my German high tier tanks are pretty much obsolete in current meta.

So my advice to the beginners is just to get your hands on the OP Premium tanks instead of grinding… :P (just kidding…;)

I regret going for the TierX American heavy E5  The grind wasn't bad in itself but the end result is.    Firstly I didnt know how to play it when It had a good turret that got nerfed.   Now its so powercrept.  But the reality is I am not good enough for T10 play.

I rushed the line, that too, was a mistake.

couldn't afford to spam the necessary gold at T10.  It's a rare shot these days at that teir i receive that isn't gold.

To put the nature of game balance in WoT into some comedic perspective, the E5 was one of the best and most played tanks years ago, when it had like, 50mm turret armor. Funny how things change.

I regret grinding ANY line that depends on the use of armour and as such has sacrified speed, aimtime, and/or dpm ... only to be treated on a golden shower by all those skilled players that feel they are entitled to pen any tank frontally without having to aim for weakspots.

As the title says, what lines you grinded then you regretted them?

For me, it was Type 5 heavy, because even after the buffs it received, it didn't change. But the only tank i enjoyed in that line was O Ni.

What about you? :)

Type 5,Maus,e50m,e100,113(given up),121(stopped),50b(terminatedthe grind),Waffle which i started to gring and they removed it i can go forever no non sovijet line is safe from their nerfing no brain no consequences to the players wrecking ball

So far i dont really have any lines that i regret grinding.

I guess the closest thing is the E3 line since i almost never play it.

I chose the Ferdinand route, oh my god what a pile of utter tripe that is, the armour is meaningless and it's proving the same on the Jagdtiger, awful TDs.

Personally, so far for me is the U.S.A light tank line.. I'm on Tier VI and it's very boring for me. Hmm, the reason probably is that I'm not used to play lights.

Well, I played AMX light line, and I still keep the T8. :)

And I've researched all the three tanks after already, but I love this small light. Single shot LTs?...not really, I don't like them. And if I would go for one? EBR, that I'm already grinding it.

It's hard to regret grinds when one of my main goals is to own as many T10 tanks as possible :)

This heroic-tier answer makes me want to put forward additional questions:

1. What lines are the best to grind when you're new to the game?

2. What lines took you the longest to learn? Were there any that you thought, you shouldn't have ground so soon, before nailing other important aspects of the game?

3. Which lines instead you ground and enjoyed, despite everyone telling you those were vehicles too hard &/or under-powered to play?

I'm asking because I'm curious to learn if there have been lines that you hated playing in the beginning but got better when you became more experienced players, and if you have any advice for newcomers basing on how your WoT life has been in this regard. :)

Plus, even among CMs, we have heated debates over what to do when you start - some of us believe you should play the easiest vehicles and get a feel for the battlefield first, others advise instead to look for the class that suits your play-style the best and move on from that. What do you guys think? :)

Yep, the french LT line. Started it with a fresh crew totally failed(my elc tier 5 had like a 36% wr 100+games in) Needed LT line for the stug missions.

With all the suffering i endured, i cam upon a gem and my fav tank in the game. The AMX 13-75, the only tank i could maintain 60% WR and has 1000 games, also got it to 100% on the marks with regular play.

Also 13-90 and 13-75(mostly 13-75) helped me finish every single LT mission with honors, 60 in total:D

Just to put it in perspective, although i hated them at first the french LT line has girls crews for every tank except the BC 12 T, and  elc, elc also had girls  but after the changes to it i moved the crew to the BC line.
